Re: A new song
Hehe TBH, from what I've heard, I'd say the free samples from freesf2 outmatch Edirol ;) But as for the piece, the others have got there before me. I really like the lively, exciting atmosphere you've set up. If you want a slightly darker, standard film-like setup, it could be worth having some low...

Re: A new song
Not bad at all, but as you say the samples leave a lot to be desired. The woodwinds sound like square waves and not much like real instruments at all. The staccato strings are very mechanical-sounding (which is of course unavoidable as Edirol Orchestral has neither velocity layers or RR sampling II...

Re: A new song
Thanks for the coments, my plan is do one measure per week so I'll finish this piece in about 3 years and each week I post a new update to you :lol2: ( maybe it is serious). Nice composition, I can't find anything particular to say about it besides that it is a bit short :) I like it. I'm not sure i...

Re: A FOSS DAW for Windows, anyone?
nyone who clumps different music apps together like that and calls them "audio editors" (by defenition a DAW and an audio editor are two completely different things, though some DAW's have audio editors built in), but it's a good list nonetheless. I'll definitely vouch for Wavosaur, which...

I started it today, it's a little rude and the samples are bad but I think It has the feeling of the game and so....

Re: new gameplay theme
Just a remastered version of that piece: http://www.4shared.com/audio/B0gWE8Dc/osn2u-remast.html Now I'm having some studying in orchestration I can see lots of bad arrangements in this but anyway This song got me tired for a long while and I won't make all tweaks this need to sound "decent&quo...

Re: What Programs were used to compose OGG musics in wesnoth
I had a difficult time trying to get to actually write anything in musescore. In Sibelius everything can be accessed intuitively. It is the best music notation software to me as well. I can't fathom how, but I will definitely find time to mess around with Sibelius 6. Harmony Assistant looks promisi...

Re: What Programs were used to compose OGG musics in wesnoth
galicae As Dixie said, the best way to Do your songs, if you don't play piano or you don't have a decent midi keyboard is writing the music in a music notation software and then making the audio improvements at a DAW. I've noticed that there are some notation software that have audio routing and mi...
