There's no problem with having [story] tags inside other tags?
I currently have them nested in an [else] and it doesn't seem to work properly. Very possible that I have something else wrong, though.

He's been "gone" for a long time.
Just not interested in Wesnoth stuff anymore, he still exists, if that's what you're asking, just not in any way that contributes to the IE. :(

I can agree with all of those.
I think that GC was the last campaign that Turin made for the IE before he left, and it's a little underdone, but with a bit of work it could be a nice little campaign.

I've done the above and embedded it in a prestart event for my first scenario, which seems to work well except that I would like it to go before the [story] tags, but if I place it before them the story tags don't seem to work. Can I either fix this or imitate [story] tags manually somehow?

Njord. You are not supposed to be able to beat that scenario.
You're supposed to lose it to end the campaign, so you've seen the whole thing.
A re-work of FoS is currently on my list of things to do that will re-work how this final scenario works too.

Thanks for your feedback, guys, I'll take it onboard when I do a complete review of GC, which shoudn't be too far away. There's a number of things about this campaign (and the Cavernei) that never got implemented, but stick with us and we will get to a stage where this campaign fulfils expectations....

Yeah, that recall list seems pretty thin on the ground. Last time I played this campaign it was on the highest difficulty setting, but by retribution I had 2 thunderblades and 3 stormlords. Hi Jim,
I think I've fixed this one now, but you'll need to download the new version of the campaign from the add-ons server. The error was due to a change in the most recent version of the Imperial Era that should no longer present a problem.

Hrmm...I combined those two sections in the most recent version, and it's now working for me. If you want to play it on 1.9.10 I'd recommend just downloading the new version, it's not a large campaign so it won't use up much internet.

Historically speaking, I think you have a number of very good points there. But at some point, historical accuracy has to give way to gameplay (after all, these guys are ORCS already...), and a faction without ranged attacks at all for most of their units is at a sore, sore disadvantage.
