Very nicely drawn, but absolutely doesn't seem to fit anywhere, to my mind.
:?
Good work.

The bottom of the body looks strange.

Almost a male Naga? (serpent with human arms...)

Methinks the philosopher does protest too much.

I believe it's a metaphorical Zone of Control in action. With tiles of Mountain-Grass-Evil Necromancer's Castle-Grass-Mountain.

Or, like I suggested, split enemy hex into sixths and attack from whatever you are pointing from, keeps the one-click interface while giving you control.

1 through 4 are to be thrown out the window immediately.
Walking Corpse/Bat. Archer. Infinite attacks. In some versions, move on and shoot at the next unit.
5 and 6 aren't much better. For Archer read Elvish Outrider... 10 attacks, choice of melee or ranged.

7 is my choice.

Ooh... blue, tentacle bottom, claws... Looks great. Now I have a minor pet peeve, that the claws seem to be on very short arms, but no doubt they'll be extended further from the body during the attack animation.

EDIT: At second look, I saw the sleeve on the left arm. A bit indistinct, but good.

You'd still have to check whether the enemy is mounted, and it's a Bad Thing (tm) to be able to morph the enemy's units without their choice. Also, this requires a dialog box for the unit's owner - something that is not present in the level-up event. We're also avoiding one turn popping up boxes for...

The Knight is one of the most powerful units in the game, and this has two issues: 1) The Knight has no upgrade that does not lose something. The paladin loses sword damage, and the grand knight loses speed. In many situations, the Knight is superior to one or both of its upgrades. To fix this prob...

I'm not sure if it would work for the shadow, seeing how close it is to the wraith. Like I said, keep the blue shading. Not all spirits must be half-transparent grey. That gets boo-ring, even if the undead are meant to be spooky rather than flashy. Those soulless eye slits on the current Shadow kin...

So... it's a special ability, that works so that if the enemy attacks on the turn after he was "tripped", he will be knocked off his horse, or suffer defense decrease if non-mounted? How about flying units? How about mermen? How does a spear or two trip a cuttlefish? How would the AI use i...

Boo. I liked the old blue shadow with claws. This graphic looks sorta dirty. The Nightgaunt really did/does need a remake, I'll give you that.

Shadow - too grainy
EP - too blurry

Both of you seem to have missed proper shading, IMO.
