There are a few GPL2 licensed WWII sprites coming with FreeCiv. Maybe they come useful. It would also make some sense to introduce more realistic mechanics, like supply lines and air units requiring airfields, because without supply lines it would be impossible to model WWII battles.

The " Peasant Child " sprites, while perfectly sized and proportioned, appear to have some serious color issues. Their shadows are black and fade at the edges (a shading technique that's being phased out), the contrast is so low that the the face and knife can barely be discerned ingame, ...

I take it you are not talking about simply imposing 3D graphics onto existing Wesnoth but making a new game Wesnoth 3D. Regardless, the bigger problem is that it calls for north/south facings for units (one's mileage may vary regarding how strongly they're called for). With horizontal hexes, east-west combat animations would practically always suffice for the diagonals as well (probably in everyone's mind). If there...

Looking nice :) Few suggestions: It could use another windup frame or two when he draws back, and the tail should be a little more fluid.
