Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

Just saying: this project will be beyond interesting to follow, since HttT is, as you said, easily the most iconic Wesnoth campaign, and I'd love to see what you guys can work out of it. It's very weird, but interesting, to see the old characters with so realistic and proper outifts after the simlis...

Re: Valkiers portraits: It's like I can touch you!

Kraus: As I've stated more than once, I'm just trying to get a decent portrait for Tallin in general right now. He'll get armor and whatnot later after I finish up all the other portraits. Aware of that, and I meant no offence. :) I have full respect for artistic freedom, and understand that my opi...

Re: Valkiers portraits: It's like I can touch you!

He's definitely getting better! The first sketches weren't even near what I personally was waiting to see, but you are definitely getting better. :) I would like to, once again just for the sake of my personal preference, see either at least some mismatching armour plates, or see a second portrait f...

Re: Reepurr's stuff: Rainforest shelter

The crossbow is still jumping to the resting position too sharply, don't you think? It would warrant an extra frame, or something.

Re: Valkiers portraits: It's like I can touch you!

Just for a quick reference: There is the difference also in Tallin's sprite, where he starts off as a peasant slave in rags, but once he levels and meets the dwarves he'll get armour and whatnot. That being said, it wouldn't be a bad idea possibly to draw two variants, one for the early scenarios, o...

Re: Valkiers portraits: It's like I can touch you!

This is so much better than the last version. I hope you'll get around all of the huge variety of cast. If this level of improvement carries over to all of your work on these, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you make out of Tallin. I wasn't one of the fans of your latest attempt. Morvin an...

Re: Reepurr's stuff: Rainforest shelter

Just a few things I picked up: -You crossed the black lines on the back. Careful with those! :) -The foreheads highlights don't follow the original. The head's three dimensional too, not just a tube. -In all marked parts the blend of shades could be smoother. It's funny how the shades you added are ...

Re: Reepurr's stuff: Rainforest shelter

I just have to share, that in my opinion you have developed in huge, huge steps over last couple of months. I can remember autumn when your work wasn't really up to par, and I honestly felt a bit bad you tried so hard with all the let downs; but now, the work indeed seems to have paid itself back! D...

Re: Ellisae's portrait attempts

Just wanted to drop by to make a compliment: This stuff is awesome for a Wesnoth first timer. Over the course of the year, for what I've stalked, there has been some very good artists who later on just left their works or didn't follow the Wesnoth style. It's been interesting to follow, their conver...

Re: Campaign art - Descent into Darkness

Pick of the nit, nit of the pick! I found a little something that might disturb a bit. :) If you check how Malin is portrayed in end.jpg, found from story pictures, his staff is different, and in the story pic he still has his sword hanging. Which is very cool, in my opinion. It would've been nice t...

Re: Valkiers portraits: It's like I can touch you!

I'm loving the white scheme a lot. It works better with the sprites than turqoise. I trust Thera's going to get a same kind of treatment? At this point the flow of the cloth he's wearing on his shoulders (the long, ornate one) is a bit weird. Also, the leather patches on his shoulders aren't too dis...

Re: A new terrain type?

This is definitely a very, very good idea. :) Most likely it doesn't need to add any further bonuses to defenses of any kind, but as an aesthetic overlay it is, I'd say, more needed than desired to make good looking cities. Work on! I hope this gets done, and mainlined. Many a scenario would benefit...

Re: Favorite Wesnoth Character?

I actually prefer Jessene over Jessica. It has more of a fantasy and outlandish feel to it, which is only fitting. What I don't understand that well, however, is why they made one of the main characters of Liberty a woman... Anyhow, I think I'd need to say Thera and Morvin are my favorites too. Tall...

Re: Northern Rebirth

For some its a reality at least for nine months per year. "It's awful 'cause it's true..." :) Most of the stories in Wesnoth are 'silly' at best. The writing does get a bit better later on, though. Just for the sake of getting lines out of the way I'll just give a rough draft, then. It's ...

Re: Finnish Translation

Kahden veljen tarinan käännös on vanhentunut. Kampanjateksti on kirjoitettu paikoitellen uusiksi joitain kuukausia sitten. Nettisivuilta ei kuitenkaan löyty uudistettua .po tiedostoa. Mistä tämä löytyisi? The translation file for Tale of Two Brothers is out of date. The script was rewritten some mon...
