Re: who can tell me the principal of wesnoth balancing?
I believe to balance BfW mathematically one would have to put in weights, e.g. saying 3MP are more valuable than the slowing abilty, or the other way round. I can't imagine how one would verify the correctness of those weights, except by .... empiric data! Which would pretty much bring us back to th...

Re: Keyboard Shortcuts
Actually, it was fixed in one of the latest builds of 1.x (the last release doesn’t, but the last build does). If you build Wesnoth with one of the latest builds of 1.x the problem should go away. 1.2.15 was released last month and the topic in question is from two years ago. Hope you're just conci...

Re: Siege of Elensefar Too Hard
... The problem I had with this scenario is that the wiki strategy guide is badly phrased; it seems to say that you should hang out by where the fjord will appear, when you should be camping out in the forests just north of your keep. I've noticed that the wiki guide for HttT is a little off in pla...

Re: recalling units changes scenario difficulty?
Well, I don't feel like I'm obsessed, I just wanted to understand it. Actually the ai knowing my recruits is not really my point... Frankly said: I very much enjoy playing BfW and I get the feeling it has very high standards in a lot of respects; so an ai acting REALLY, REALLY stupid a) feels out of...

Re: Keyboard Shortcuts
Maybe it's only me, but pretty often the keyboard shortcuts just quit working properly after playing some time; ctrl+s, ctrl+o and ctrl+space have no effect, s acts like alt+s... After playing some time, or after playing some time and switching applications (probably with ALT-Tab)? When this happen...

Re: recalling units changes scenario difficulty?
I know many beginner campaigns don’t utilize fog of war, so it might not be a huge impact. I don't know what you consider to be beginner campaigns, the official intermediate campaign I'm playing right now (Dead Waters) sometimes uses it; I don't know about the other campaigns... t just think having...

Re: recalling units changes scenario difficulty?
2. How does the ai determine if the leader attacks? Sometimes the leader comes forward boldly, but sometimes it refuses to deal damage even if there's no chance for retaliation damage. An annoying example is a retreating ai-ally with powerful ranged attack that only does one useless step but doesn'...

Always the same behavior, ends when I quit/restart, sometimes when loading another saved game. I still can use the menu(s...

Re: recalling units changes scenario difficulty?
Probably there's an more appropriate thread for this, but anyway... I like BfW and since the ai is an integral part of it, I'm thankful for having it and the people that created it. Personally, I don't know shtuff about coding/ai. Having said that... 1. The ai often appears to fight suicidally, whic...

Why?shadowmaster wrote:The AI currently ignores fog and shroud, yes.
And I think it's an unfair advantage for the AI.
