Re: Rename "thief" to "scoundrel"
Gladiator > Thrasher The best rename ever. ;) *** The Drakes changed because their culture isn't set-in-stone yet and few campaigns cover them. New names were necessary on a few of the units because the official backstory of the Drake culture was rewritten in anticipation of increased usage of Drak...

Re: Critical Moments
Mainline isn't an option, but if you make the boost fun enough and add a few other features, your era might see some play. It also wouldn't require non-host players to download it if you don't add any new units/images, which makes it far easier to actually host a game with your era. Also, if you mak...

Re: Dwarf Humans
In mainline, the unit ID basically equals the unit name, so it's probably easier for writing scenarios based on your era if you were just as consistent. Considering that some of your unit IDs might conflict with certain mainline or UMC units, in the future if not now, it is probably easiest to have ...

Re: The Era of Myths e8: bug fixes
A custom version of the Elementals that doesn't require/depend-on EoM is used in The Silver Lands, if that's what you're wondering about.

Re: Wesnoth Online World?
I've heard from frequent users that the Sourceforge website gets progressively worse and user-unfriendly every time it redoes its website's GUI (especially the administrative options), and it frequently reinvents itself. If you prefer long-term stability over change, you might not like Sourceforge t...

Re: The Settlers of Light: (Need someone to code)
Is the geography of pre-Fall Wesnoth even existent and recognizable after the events leading up to Under the Burning Suns?

Re: Dwarf Humans
Yes, it's not inherently wrong. It just might confuse some people. That's why it's proper to choose a different name if someone else chose a name first and it got fairly popularized. There's no moral imperative to do so, it just might be helpful to prevent any possible mix-ups (either among players ...

Re: Wesnoth Online World?
Depends on whether or not peasant uprisings count as voting. :P Personally, I think they should; it's the majority selecting a new leader, isn't it? :P I thought peasant uprisings tended to fail miserably? Middle class and noble uprisings, on the other hand, shook up Europe permanently. :P P.S. At ...

Re: Wesnoth Online World?
And of course, I expect a bad King wouldn't last long. Other players would take them down via assassination, or vote them out. Is there any historical precedent for voting on monarchs other than some supermassive-but-unstable-and-decentralized empires and kingdoms of the middle ages? The Holy Roman...

Re: Dwarf Humans
Some advice for your shadows: don't use pure black the whole time (even sprites wearing black, like the assassin, don't use pure black) and try to mess with transparencies, kind of like the ghosts do.
