Categories for Get Add-ons
Maybe it would be possible for the 1.3.x line to add categories (campaigns, eras etc) to the downloads menu? Now it's a terrible mess and often it's hard to say (having only the name) what is what.

I too do assume most users would want the whole game (especially since the music is excellent) but do you really think they're so keen on redownloading the music files over and over again with every release? Well, I assumed you meant splitting the campaigns into separate downloads because that is w...

I think this a bad idea for wesnoth. Windows users can get annoyed by having to download many things. Besides, most people would want the entire game. I would disagree. First of all Linux users essentially do get that, why windows users be discriminated? It's not that a person on Linux can cope and...

Could you elaborate on this command? And if such functionality exist already in same way why not add it to options? Unless there is an assumption that every new player should read every little word of wesnoth documentation. Almost all options are first tried out as a : command. The most useful ones...

Before someone shoots this down, let me just say that I agree wholeheartedly. IMHO the option should be a simple slider with which you'd specify how many autosaves max you want to have. Pick 4 and you always have autosaves of the last 4 turns. IMHO this should also work so that autosaves would neve...

No autosaves option
I know that wesnoth devs seem to react to words like 'optional' like your typical FPS shooter player to an alien, but still I'd like to propose making autosaves optional. I play wesnoth on 2 computers (for various RL reasons) one of them being pretty slow. While the game is playable on it, making an...

Windows distributions as separate downloads?
It would be very convinient if windows distribution was more like linux one, ie allowing the user to download only those parts of the game he/she wants. If it's too much hassle, then maybe at least making music a separate download? It's fairly big, compresses badly and usually doesn't change that of...

Thank you for the patch, will try it tonight, if have time. For what it worth, I like your approach of a 7-zip compressed archive. It's small and straightforward. Personally I don't install Wesnoth, since it runs just fine when uncompressed and does not use the registry, so your patch suits me just...

The list is so long to show you that following the rules is not an exception; it's something that most decent applications do. And the applications which break the rules are usually the games. ;-) And there is a very good reason for this, many users (myself included) refuse to have any data from ga...
