Re: comparing map data textually BUMP
I really don't like to do this, but the new edition of my handy program is a major improvement over the prior one — which probably shouldn't've been published at all. I doubt anyone made use of it.

Deleting topics
Maybe permissions were changed: I know that in 2017 I was able to delete topics of mine in the Art Workshop (23) board if it had no replies; recently, I learned that I am unable to delete topics in either the Scenario & Campaign (8) or Users' Forum (6) boards with same conditions. Shouldn't grou...

Re: The Sleepless Sea
Maybe that restlessness is somehow tied in with whatever causes it to drain.
Whatever they discover, it is fascinating.

Re: The Sleepless Sea
Why is it called “sleepless”? Maybe because it dries periodically? Doing this yearly could be easy enough: its sources of water are seasonal, and when they are dry, it evaporates. Doing this less frequently would be more interesting, but also more difficult to make it consistent with geologic and me...

Re: Poison mechanic
All three of these could easily be done with WML. Click on the Create link at the top of this page to learn more. The first one I like, and plan to do something similar for one of my own eras — of course, that era has all kinds of funky new mechanisma. Look up EventWML and DirectActionWML . You coul...

Re: The Black Cross of Aleron (formerly Besieged Druids)
Yup. Artifact Mod: http://files.wesnoth.org/addons/1.14/Item_Mod.tar.bz2 Armory Mod : http://files.wesnoth.org/addons/1.14/ArmoryMod.tar.bz2 Unless a campaign was made to support or require a [modification] , any glitches occuring while you are using an unsupported mod are the fault of the mod. I.e....

Re: Humor Campaign: Talentless Mage (1.12)
Many. I only know a few of them, but there are a few which were in deprecation for 1.13 and which are no longer supported in 1.14. Macros, mostly: {MAGENTA_IS_THE_TEAM_COLOR} , for example. Some things were renamed, but 1.14 yet has support for the old versions for now IIRC . I think most of the imp...

Re: Making a browser version of wesnoth?
The short of it is this: I think this project would work best as a wholely new MMOG which uses BFW assets. In that situation, the browser applet is simply a client connecting to an ongoing server instance. It doesn't even need launched from a browser if you have the applet downloaded and a separate ...

Re: To Lands Unknown 3.1.2 - a new gameplay mode!
You can also tweak the aggression of the computer controller. From your description of the behavior, such is probably all that needs done.

Re: Eastern Europe at War (EEaW) - 2.1 for 1.14!
Oh! I understood that the AI was unable to comprehend the cannons and that it always rushed, making games against it too easy. Why does Wesnoth have more mod makers than mod players? Most of the players stick with a few, familiar eras and maps; many of them play campaigns only. Why is that? Well, I ...

Re: The Black Cross of Aleron (formerly Besieged Druids)
I... don't have an answer for that really? Does something about it strike you as odd? It does strike me as odd that the elves (who in the next scenario agree that 'the undead are a travesty to be destroyed without question'), would just leave the cave while those very undead are still alive. Especi...

comparing map data textually
So, maybe this is too simple. Maybe that's why there isn't one already posted here or included in the data/tools/ anywhere: because most developers of so–called UMC all have their own. Well, I needed something to enable me to compare map data with small differences, and so I wrote one. You cannot si...

Re: Humor Campaign: Talentless Mage (1.12)
A few things here. None of these prepare it for 1.14 yet. I suggest that the Taxman and the Beautiful Fish recruit different troops. That will encourage the Taxman to buy more land troops. Interlude 1 shouldn't save a replay because it is only a cutscene. Sword Noob shouldn't be offered the AMLA for...

Re: Eastern Europe at War (EEaW) - 2.1 for 1.14!
Of course, most Marines were tougher, if you will, than the average sailor. That's the sort of person attracted to that sort of thing. For me, being “tough” was standing watch over equipment with too little sleep while memorizing casualty procedures and all that. Ah, but yes. Back on topic. I'm not ...

Re: chicken or the Orc?
Well, I remember something where Uwe Boll was like, So, you want to criticize my moviemaking? Well, I'll bet you can't beat me … at boxing! and he then proceeded to challange some of those to a boxing match. That is not an exact quote, but I think it jabs to the heart of the matter better than Uwe's...
