Re: AI-generated Art

As far as I understand, there's a fundamental difference with google search which is that the images generated are new, since these neural-network based algorithms are capable of some level of abstraction (the abstract 'concepts' form what doofus calls encoding). It is closer to 'taking inspiration...

Re: 1.16 SP Campaign: Trinity

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Those are some embarrassing mistakes, I'll look into this. Thanks for reporting.

Re: AI-generated Art

I've tried to read up on what a stable diffuser is (there is a lot of crap out there, but I'm going with huggingface.co, better suggestions welcome), and it's mostly over my head, but my current (probably wrong) understanding is that: 1. There is a step-wise deconstruction of a training image - iter...

Re: Saurian portraits (wip)

That does look great. I'd leave out the fish/worm though, since it won't be appropriate for most dialogs. You could have it be a separate layer though, so it could still be added in some place like the help menu.

Re: Loyalists

There is a partially animated version already in 1.17, but those edits are subtle enough that it shouldn't be an issue to include them. I'm more inclined to tone down the cod-piece, like #1, just because these sprites necessarily have limited bandwidth for what's communicated, and that doesn't seem ...

Re: 1.16 SP Campaign - Bad Moon Rising

Oh, got it. In that case, it might help to wander in the snow - the enemies should be weaker than in the forest and the cavalry only goes after you if you're on the road. You can also go back to the starting village to buy/sell equipment, if that's relevant.

Re: 1.14 SP Campaign: Trinity

Trinity 1.16.0 has been uploaded to BfW 1.16 server. I only tested through Khthon scenario Storming Weldyn, so there may be bugs in later scenarios.
I will update as I find them or anyone else reports them.

Re: 1.16 SP Campaign - Bad Moon Rising

You won't see an elf until you are in their territory, much later. Not sure what to say about the gold, it should be pretty easy to build it up at least a little. I'd suggest that maybe you had too high upkeep, but I think that's hard to do that early in the campaign. Possibly it's a bug, but someth...

Re: 1.16 SP Campaign - Bad Moon Rising

Where are you in the campaign? And what difficulty? Balancing these things isn't straightforward; usually skirmishes are pretty easy, a chance to prep for the real battles/scenarios instead of replaying earlier scenarios. The ghosts are annoying (intentionally, up to a point), and the endgame enemie...

Re: Clarification of terms

Yep. Maybe they could have been "Lesser Swamp Dragons", but our fire dragon is still a hot mess after all these years, we're not ready for swamp dragons.

Re: wesnoth and beyond

I agree with a lot of your general sentiment, but remember that Wesnoth is all volunteers, so there is a serious limit on the work-hours that can be spent on anything. The wiki necessarily takes lower priority than the core program. For all of its shortcomings, basic WML is very easy to learn and un...

Re: 1.16 SP Campaign - Bad Moon Rising

This is a Save from just after picking up the Leather Armor, just before trying to Use it. I can also get the error by having Scallion try to "Use". Like I said, I didn't know what I was doing. I now understand that "Use" applies to an Inventory item, not to an Equippped item. T...

Re: Wesnoth Fauna

So one issue with these portraits may be that the fins seem to flop or bend under their own weight, which makes them look like cloth. Good point, the fins started turning into robes for arms, almost. The arms are a little weird, but this is a fantasy game, and hopefully they make more sense w...

Re: 1.16 SP Campaign - Bad Moon Rising

Thanks for the feedback. I am trying to post a screenshot of the error message. Is there a log file it would be in? I think it depends on the OS, but the message in that image is probably enough, if I could recreate the issue. But I don't seem to be able to, can you detail what you did? I thought th...
