Re: Journey's End
Very nice music West. Nothing much to say on it!
Can i suggest the bass drum to be pianissimo at start...? I feel it pretty aggressive. I hear this first violin line like a sun ray in the morning, and the bass drum king of ruins this feeling.
Other than that, great job!

That's funny, i always used the matrix within Cubase and Logic audio. I never play my parts... Only when i need a very "human" touch...

Re: I'd like to contribute.
Oh, ok, so it must be an old "light" version or the Special Edition. Not the complete DVD edition.saturn6 wrote:Aleksi - this VSL came with Kontakt3 which came with Komplete5, if that helps you know what version I have.

Re: I'd like to contribute.
I use VSL... and the sounds you use don't sound as VSL sounds at all. Perhaps you have the Special Edition? Or maybe you just aren't using the potential of this library! You need to use velocity and dynamics. Add more reverb... and please, humanize a bit the quantification, is sounds really stiff! :...

Re: Wesnoth music and the future
The problem with the Sacem, Siae, and the other European protection facilities, is that they do everything to protect your rights! I mean the goal is to PROTECT, so they DO IT, but it excessively! So, about the Sacem, which i know about because i am a member (and soon won't be anymore) is that it wo...

Re: Some battle type piece
I like the way it starts! The strings theme is really nice, especially when its reinforced in octaves. The part that follows feels kind of plain according to me. It kind of kills the energy... Perhaps, it should be a bit louder, but should still have some percussive support. No problems with the Xyl...

Re: Wesnoth music and the future
No, i can . Its just that i declare the piece and its use. Example: I would deposit a music like this: "Generic Wesnoth music No 1" The description, tempo, AIFF file and score. It is then protected worldwide. After that, i can give the authorization for Wesnoth to use the music. And so on....

Re: Wesnoth music and the future
Well, in my case, i'm part of SACEM, and i can't use another licence. So, if i can't use it here, i have no other alternative... Am I misunderstanding you or does being part of SACEM mean you can't do what you want with your own work?? If so, you've been had, dude... :( Yes, i can do what i want wi...

Re: Wesnoth music and the future
Perhaps, some moderators could talk about it on other forums. There are tons of (so called) composers around and that would be glad to join. But expect a real invasion... You mean on this forum? No, i know two other forums where you can fetch composers... But expect lots of demand, and it will requ...

Re: Wesnoth music and the future
I understand your concerns West. Even though i'm not active, i check the forums daily. From my perspective, the main reasons why i don't contribute to Wesnoth are: -The GPL stuff doesn't suit me. But it is my fault, as i didn't pay attention to this from the start. Too bad, because my music has matu...

I don't see why it should be a problem. If every podcast, video, TV reviews had to pay royalties it would be rather complicated...

Re: Drake theme? (Volo Licens)
Interesting piece, but the cellos and double basses are way to loud. Strange for me to hear all of the string family on the left pan. Perhaps, try to space them a little?
