Footpads have 1 more MP than poachers which is not such a minor matter and do a little more damage (impact) at melee, which is important for defense vs grunt and even more against trolls. Though, I agree that poachers hold forests, castle and villages longer than footpads. But against a massive army...

I forgot to tell that to prevent you from ulfs, Jetryl's and F8 Bind's advices were good to follow. Just be prepared to lose poisoners as much as knalgans will lose their ulfs. It also means that you find a position that ensure you that your opponent won't be able to cover his ulf after he killed yo...

Congrats, you played better than your opponent, but... he wasn't that tough indeed. His recruits proves it as he didn't recruit any poachers nor footpads, nor ulfs, and attacked with thieves from swamp (not voluntarily though) and from water (no excuse this time), and many others mistakes. You were ...

I agree with Jetryl, grunts are your sword as much as trolls are your shield. When I face Northeners, I try to kill hard hitters 1st and trolls in final, because when the opponent has nothing more than trolls, he cannot damage you that much and cannot threat much positions around the hot front. When...

ghosts against drakes..... i dont think so I do think so, though. they make good units for finishing off a drake with few HP left; the added advantage is they get a drain-heal from this. Also, they require a Burner to dispatch effectively, meaning that your enemy's diverted a Burner which could be ...

I myself wouldn't go for the heavy infantry. If I was facing just undead, sure, but with the drakes hovering around they would get fried too easily. I would rather not recruit the woose. Like HI, they are slow, have low defence and are pawned by drakes. As a matter of fact, I just played a game las...

I feel that your message is adressed to me F8 Binds. I don't quite understand because we do say the same, as far as I understood. Ghosts don't resist fire, so it's no that good to tell they can as toms did (unless I didn't quite understand his message). And no, bats aren't better either to attack He...

To kill infantery, you need adepts, or... ghosts . Yes, a ghost can be nice. Resistance against impact(wose, infantery) and against fire (mage). When you have only 18HPs, I think 10% resistance to fire can be considered as a weakness, for it is not enough to save your ghost's ass against burners or...

My little experience of the game makes me think of another point, not explicitely mentionned : There are 2 ways to defend a position, hold it with the appropriate unit (ex : like thunderer in a mountain), or threaten it with your back line (ex : you want that village with your skeleton ? c'mon my bu...

Re: Dwarfish Thunderer debate

One hit with a thunderer and an enemy is mostly dead. Ideal for an easy kill for an thief etc. If I miss well at least the rest on my units are not commited on "half" a kill". I'm with you Sombra. Always 1st attack with the thunderer then choose the other moves depending on the resul...

I had the same problem. Another solution for those who are not used of informatic stuffs (myself), is to download the campain "a new threat", in which the movements are set.

According to me, the knalgan alliance is the easiest for beginners, for the reasons mentioned higher. Their units are easy to choose, you can make an army of 2 mains type and complete with very few others and still be competitive. Ex : vs undeads ---> mainly warriors and berzerkers vs drakes ---> ma...

The circle of power are meant to give a special bonus to attack like the holy potions of other campains. It's quite hard to use it though, and it works only once : 1. you need an elf on each circle in the same turn, one of them is purposed to be given power, the other is a sacrifice. 2. one of the t...
