Re: Knalgans vs Wose

Wesnoth is not simply a game of one on one matches. While you don't have any fire ranged damage to specialize in killing Wose, you have such a large amount of generalized blade damage that if you really want one dead, you can make it so. I say this because my statistical impression the Wose is that ...

Re: Regarding Santa Claus

 Didn't we have this exact same thread last year around this time? I don't know. I do know we had autopruning last year though, so we may as well not've. Knowing the history of our community's members might be nice. Anyway yeah I sorta believed in Santa Claus, as we know him today, whe...

424. You find yourself wondering if this thread has finally found its final home and resting place on the forums or if it has such a hard to place nature that it'll move again someday.

Re: Humble Indy Bundle #2

Maybe I'm missing the point but when I checked out my download link today it said "You can now redeem your Humble Indie Bundle #2 games on Steam and Desura!" and I think it's kinda neat... Except I'm wondering why I would want to do that exactly when I can download directly from their site...

Re: Christmas gift ideas?

Just so everybody knows, the actual Lego boxes themselves say 4+ in a big bold typeface. I think any numbers the Lego Group puts on their main product's box would be accurate for direct danger safety concerns like choking hazards, if not only to reduce their potential legal liability as much as poss...

Re: Humble Indy Bundle #2

"Just so" is a statement I'm doing something I normally wouldn't for a reason and "I could check them out" shows that this reason is for the purposes of evaluation. I figured that the context would've implied that the purposes of this evaluation was for figuring just how much I s...

Humble Indy Bundle #2

Oh hey everybody, I thought since the response was so overwhelmingly positive last time that you guys might want to take a look into the second iteration of the Humble Indy Bundle . For those of you who missed it the first time, it's basically a fundraiser type deal where five independent game devel...

Re: Please read: A personal appeal from shadowmaster

Wait, what? Why would somebody advertise forum games on the Wesnoth forums, when they could just as easily start their own native version of the thread in place of the advertisement? I mean I suppose I could understand that forum games might be considered spam in some places but I can think of no ci...

Re: [USA] Tuesday is Election Day - Go Vote!

What's the point in voting for anybody if nobody reads the bill? It'd be like entrusting somebody with a blindfold on to be your limousine driver. There is no way that such a person could make an informed decision and a high likelihood of misfortune ensuing as a result. This goes doubly so for place...

Re: Charity to support

Personally speaking, I tend to ignore requests like this because an honest ballot allows you to review all the participants to see who exactly is most deserving of winning. This combined with the fact that they're going to give the prize to somebody anyway whether I vote or not means a more accurate...

Re: Games

We've had two such topics actually. One was dedicated specifically to freeware games, which you guys might find helpful and the other was games in general that included freeware games. As for a general game I'm going to throw a hat in for the Touhou * series again because scrolling shooters are fun ...

Re: US threatening to censor internet

Is it just me or does the term Statist Liberal sound like an oxymoron? It's like " I'm going to let you be freeeeee  by telling you what you can and cannot do. :annoyed: " I mean it's not that we don't need a little balance between the two but through what sort of shenanigans coul...

Re: Playstation 2

Well, to be fair, I often hear that the PS3 "stole" a lot of exclusives from the 360, most famously FF XIII was supposed to be . Somehow that ended up not being the case though as Gambit would tell ya he absolutely loves it on his PS3. So that list probably was accurate at a time. That the...

Re: Playstation 2

Uhm, the 360 is not the "original" xBox. I was talking about the giant black box with the big ol' green X right on top of it that you. Not the white thing that looks kinda like a P.C. on slimfast. Since the 360 came before the PS3 and the PS3 had a hard time picking up steam with its 600 d...

Re: where do you rate yourself as a Wesnoth player?

10 (never lost in wesnoth) This could be true! But did you ever win? The only qualifier for a ten is that he hasn't lost. I think I saw something about this once in some anime once. "The only way to guarantee you'll never lose is to never play." :P Forgot which one though, card game based...
