Hail West, Lord of Music! I remember listening to this a while back and really liking the end result. The download link is just showing a blank screen, however. :(

Don't know if it could really be used in the game, but I thought the song was most amusing indeed. I could totally see where you were going with it. A+ on the idea, to say the least.

Nunc Dimittis (previously was Moribund Waltz)

Hey, it's been forever since I've posted here! I've had some rather exciting things happen in the past few months (both really good and really bad), but I've had a bit of time to compose. Here's something that I've put together, comments are always welcome: http://gnexp.com/songs/nunc_dimittis.mp3 (...

Personally how I learned is by playing in various ensembles. I played 3rd trombone in a few community orchestras, and that gave me plenty of time to listen to the different instruments (the only instruments that played less than me were the tuba and percussion). I find I cannot program to music anym...

The word builder really kicks my trash. It's my next project to finally figure out how to use the blasted thing so that I can do the cool choir stuff. It amazes me how different sounding the EastWest libraries can sound under different hands.

Sounds cool. So you're Doug Koufman. Good to meet you. Just curious, what samples are you using?

Shadow, I can do that, though it might be a while. I just formatted my computer and have to install all the programs again. Hopefully I can get to it this week.

Suggestions? I have done a lot of tweaking and experimenting, but I'm always open for suggestions. Is it too much hall sample added to the instruments? It is the EWQL sample set after all. Well, the only real suggestion i can give is to study orchestration. We use the same sample set and yet it sou...

shadow master: did you add Jeremy to the credits ? Jeremy: what name and alias do you want in the credits (if you are not there yet) I'll ask today. I decided to wait a day in case someone decided to wipe out my commit. Looks like the name is in there OK - as for aliases, I go by Jeremy2 and...

I await Aleksi's and Timothy's opinion on this. Otherwise I would have commited this right away. I'm not crazy about the sample sound quality but i think we can still give it a go. Aleksi. Suggestions? I have done a lot of tweaking and experimenting, but I'm always open for suggestions. Is i...

I realize much of it is based on the beginning. But as you said more instruments were added in some parts, and that's what I meant by "everything start blaring together", and that there is less volume or tension variation. I just think the version in the beginning was "perfect" ...

I think it sounds great, much more dynamic and interesting than previous versions. Damn, you've really put a lot of work into this piece! Thank you, West - and everyone else. Yes, I've put a lot of work into it but I think half of it was just trying to figure out how to use the orchestral samples. ...

In the beginning when the low frequency instruments start playing (0:11-0:14), they overwhelm the sound of the taiko. It doesn't happen with the older version, and I liked that better. However when I listen to the new version with headphones, this doesn't seem to be a problem; maybe it's just becau...

No the last 10 seconds were not intentional. Ok, fixed the phasing horns, and the title in the MP3. I've also uploaded an OGG version: http://www.gnexp.com/songs/vengeful.ogg . I think I'm done. Anyone disagree? I'd love to hear from someone who's actually in charge of including this in the main game.
