Re: A New Adventure (for me): Compiling Wesnoth on Ubuntu
First and foremost, you can install the dev branch from Rhonda's ppa: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rhonda/wesnoth-devel sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install wesnoth-1.11 What sorcery is this? I have no idea what those commands mean, but I just typed them in the terminal, and now I have Wesnoth 1...

Getting Wesnoth 1.11 on Ubuntu (solved)
Hullo all! I recently ditched Windows and installed Ubuntu on my computer. In the past, (when using Windows) I've always been spoiled by having Wesnoth installation binaries served to me on a platter, but it seems that it's not that easy in Linux. The development branch isn't available through the U...

Re: Sven's Adventure
Looks impressive! New campaigns rarely catch my eye, but it appears you've put a lot of work into this, and you've presented it so nicely here that I'm tempted to give it a go. I also like the concept as you have explained it.
I'll download this and try it out sometime later today and get back to you!

Not finding any fun in THAT. Then don't play it. Nobody's forcing you to, and you certainly haven't lost anything, considering that you didn't spend any money on it. Alternatively, instead of swearing at the add-on's creator, you could try providing him with a useful bug report including specific d...

Re: "Unidentified units"
Possibly useful/related: I hear that in WML, it is now possible for a unit's vision distance (for clearing fog/shroud etc) to be distinct and different from its movement distance. So it would be possible for a unit to see farther than it can move. (And thus identify distant units sooner) I think thi...

Thank you, Dave, for providing the world with the miraculous gift that is Wesnoth. I love you.

Well it would be nice if someone just actually provided the link.
@hypercross: also see this and this - not exactly what you're particularly asking for, but related; you might find it helpful.

Re: Chasso's Art Dump
Those look like very good frankensteins to me. Are you using the unit in a UMC or just modding your own copy of Wesnoth to include it? (it sounds as though you have created an actual unit using the sprites)

Your landscape-ish type works always make me think of the worlds from the Myst games. I love them.

Re: Is anyone working on a campaign based on Game of Thrones
Not intending to argue, (I understand that this is a touchy subject, and I'll drop it after this) but I found the thread for the Star Wars TC I had mentioned, and there Gambit doesn't seem to disapprove of "discussing such things"- though of course distribution through wesnoth.org is an ob...

Re: Is anyone working on a campaign based on Game of Thrones
If someone makes such a thing simply for their own personal use/enjoyment, that's fine; nobody will have any issue with that. The problem is that if content based on copyrighted material is distributed through the add-on server, (which one would likely want to do if one were to put in the effort of ...

Re: What opportunities for humanlike/role-playing AI in Wesn
Not sure how close this is to what you are considering, but since we're on the subject of AI and RPGs: I think one of the most important/useful advances that could be made in Wesnoth's AI would be to teach it how to use the more unique specialized gameplay mechanics and elements in the advanced add-...
