If the unit has a female version, call that version "... Crossbowwoman". Problem solved. The race prefixes already make it clear that we're not talking about humans here.

You could try contacting the current maintainer so that you don't accidentally work on the same file at the same time, and then start by fixing the translation mistakes that annoy you.

0 A.D. has a form of ELO rating. It needs more effort than just implementing the scoring, because there are players who will cheat by quitting without resigning when they are about to lose, and it is hard to distinguish them from a dropped internet connection, which is not the quitting player's faul...

I agree - translate if it is what YOU want to do, because it is a lot of work. I don't keep stats for my translations, but I do get the occasional personal thank you, because it does make a difference to my community.
