Re: "Lethal Joke" faction or units
The Alliance of Light in Great War has Elvish Shamans and Dwarvish Ulfserkers...Glowing Fish wrote:An obvious example would be a faction that had two units, one with slow and one with berserk.
EDIT: Anything with the currently-unused Stones ability. Now see what that 1-3 melee attack is really worth!

Re: Outlaws!
I can clearly see the blueish tone in her hair. Display settings? I can see the tone, but the sprite doesn't so much have "blueish tone" as "so ridiculously bright blue, you wonder how they can operate as thieves". OTOH, that would be a legit reason to deviate from the sprite a ...

Re: Outlaws!
Something really bugs me about the hand holding the dagger, but I can't put my finger on it. Sorry. Other than that, looks great. Having such a relaxed pose and yet gripping the dagger tightly? That kind of catches my eye, but I can't really tell if it's a good or a bad thing. It just indicates a c...

Re: I hope Mal Keshar isn't going to die?
You're resurrecting all necromancers? Sounds like a competitive multiplayer scenario rather than a normal campaign if you ask me. Just don't expect anyone to take your campaign's storyline seriously... which is a dangerous gambit; did anyone before me actually do a parody of a user-made campaign? Of...

Go play SCE. Then see if you can take your attitude to using chars from other campaigns seriously.woodmouse wrote:Ok, well, umm.
Mal Keshar will be resurrected by the Mystic Mage, then.
Also, Gwiti Ha'atel will be, after I check what he is like.

Re: I hope Mal Keshar isn't going to die?
Mal is the greatest! :o I mean, he's been used so many times, in so many stuff, he's became my favorite of all people in Wesnoth. So he will be resurrected. He's been used once in DiD and once in IftU. Plus, the fact he's been used already should be a reason to not touch him with a barge-pole...

Re: I hope Mal Keshar isn't going to die?
Mal Keshar really isn't that awesome. He's all that's left of a boy who used forbidden magic while desperate, tried to use it to help those he cared about, and was ostracised and attacked for that reason. Plus, it's hardly difficult to find a lich when you need one in Wesnoth. They seem to be the St...

Re: Wesband (Now with relevant info in the first post)
Playing on 1.5.11, whenever I try to change my equipped weapon or armour, doing so sends me back to the "Select Weapon/Armour" screen, which has no option to get rid of the menu. The only way I've found out of this loop is to exit Wesnoth entirely...

Re: Northern Cross
You could wmllint it and publish to the 1.5 server. After all, the current 1.5 releases are literally just betas for 1.6, so there isn't going to be MUCH changeover.

Re: 1.5 Level 0 campaign: Fool's Errand
Hm, thought I'd solved Sarge being an idiot in combat. Maybe if I give him a movement_goal of all the hexes of his keep; I can't tell him to shoot for the player's keep, because eventually I'm going to add the branch where you kill him instead of the Arsonist. Trouble with scenario 1 noted, especial...

Re: Female peasant, Ideas?
@Lord Ork Sorry I got the wrong idea. If it's just to add variety to the L0s in a couple missions, then yeah, a thresher is too much bother. I suggested Dark Adepts instead of Mages because while peasants might not afford formal education, a dark mage isn't in a position to refuse an intelligent app...

Re: A specific question concerning NRIW
OK, that's reassuring. Thanks for the clarification Dave. Now all I have to do is port the campaign over to 1.5, playtest extensively, consider redoing from scratch the last 1/4 of the campaign, draw sprites of reasonable quality for 2 custom units, and seriously consider making the Reborns look mor...

Re: More campaigns after the fall?
I wouldn't be too worried about your first draft being cliche anyway - details are the devil, and I can see a good campaign narrative in that Chaos plot. The only big problem is the idea of the same Chaos gits going back to the same island in peace... The following is more or less your story, after ...

Re: Female peasant, Ideas?
About Orcish Shyde objections, I hadn't said that because this is about art, but in my campaign peasants have a modified progression tree. For us, the designers, it makes more sense that peasants progress through the outlaw branch, since they lack of military train, and resources. It also fits bett...

A specific question concerning NRIW
Despite the obviously low chances of any given UMC being mainlined, I am eventually intending for just that to happen to my campaign 'Necromancer'. With that in mind... One of the missions is outright called "Heretic", and revolves around the titular necromancer finding and executing a lic...
