Re: Justinoperable- Rise of Wesnoth
I didn't really smudge it that much, only in those instances where I was getting the smaller marks that kitty expressed not liking, if the edges need to be harder I'll harden then, but I didn't really use smudge much at all. p.s. I didnt take kittys paintover and smudge it, I repainted it. EDIT: Mor...

Re: Dead Water going mainline. Artwork needed!
Fair enough, it's just that text doesn't convey inflection, and putting quotations around a pretty well known and well understood word comes off as sarcastic at times. Like I said, I wasn't trying to start an argument, it just felt a little flippant. Not trying to hijack the thread, very sorry.

Re: Dead Water going mainline. Artwork needed!
Yes, that's called "perspective", and it only happens when the object you're looking at is at least the size of a house, or you're extremely close to the object you're looking at. Unless you have cues that one of the two is the case (and since this is a 2D image, you're already losing bin...

Re: Justinoperable- Rise of Wesnoth
Fathers and Sons. Fiddled with Haldrics head, fixed some perspective and sliding issues with his face, did other random stuff, lots of work on Eldaric. lots more to be done.

Re: Justinoperable- Rise of Wesnoth
I really don't understand the complaints, it looks metallic to me. Specular highlights, high contrast, harder edges than in other materials, I can see the form. The bronze is supposed to look less polished and like it has hammer marks from it's shaping. I'll bow to Kitty or Bob on this one, but it l...

Re: Justinoperable- Rise of Wesnoth
Here's more Haldric. Christmas breaks with nothing to do leads to lots of practice and lots of productivity. I think the Armor looks metallic now, but if you disagree Kitty, could I get a paintover so I know more precisely what you're referring to? I think that with Haldric I'm ready for the final C...

Re: Which songs need to be updated...
I am by no means a musician. I sling pixels and I just like to lurk to see what other artists are up to. I just wanted to say that I really like the replacement for Elfland West is making and the new Northerners theme is really great. I also wanted to say I hope Loyalists gets updated and not comple...

Re: Justinoperable- Rise of Wesnoth
More Haldric, Beginning of Eldaric. Eldaric has a number of perspective errors with his armor I need to fix before I get too carried away, but I have gotten comfortable showing unrefined stuff on here. Also, I wanted Kitty and/or Jetrels (or the campaign creators) opinion on a few things, namely whe...

Re: Dead Water going mainline. Artwork needed!
The mace looks straight to me for the most part, it just looked like it was being held in an awkward manner to me. I don't know if the perspective you showed is necessarily correct because it's hard to tell which direction the cylinder shape of the shaft should be moving in with on the very base sho...

Re: Dead Water going mainline. Artwork needed!
looking really really good. Only two nitpicks I can come up with are that the mace feels awkward in the hand, like it's coming out at slightly the wrong angle compared to the hand, but I think that would be fixed if we could see a bit of it coming from the other side of the hand, right now he looks ...

Re: Justinoperable- Rise of Wesnoth
Did some more painting and boosted the contrast of Haldric. Still plenty to do. Also, started on Jessica, but I need to change her some, her expression is boring and not very narrative. I intend to work on multiple pieces at a time. I'll continue working on both of these and probably start Eldaric w...

Re: Justinoperable- Rise of Wesnoth
I'm experimenting with process. Kitty and Valkiers styles are their own, I'm not trying to imitate them.
Here's another version with some lines added.

Justinoperable- Rise of Wesnoth
So I've been trying to figure out what I really want to work on in Wesnoth, and it keeps coming back to campaign portraits for me, and I think one of the Campaigns with portraits that are the least like the mainline style is Rise of Wesnoth, couple this with the relative importance of the story and ...
