Re: Skeletal Dragon Revision

:augh: The Union for Social Awareness kindly requests that you use the term "merfolk" or "merpeople." :eng: The subjects of your thoughtless slang find the term "fish" to be derisive and insulting- implying that those referenced are somehow less than their land-walking ...

Re: Sleepwalker's totally uncalled for pixels

oh, I like. I've been wanting undead riders that didn't have ostriches for a while, so A+ there. I like the purple smokiness too... I hope you'll share the pngs when you're done.

Re: Ancient Lich Development

How about, summon a shapeshifting demon spirit of some kind relatively minor fluff quibble (I generally agree with the rest of what you had to say), but why does it have to be a demon or spirit of any kind? Aside from religion concerns with demons, fantasy is just as rife with examples of animating...

Re: Mudcrawlers

The new mudcrawler does look better...
:hmm: but the earlier attempts at base frames look usable for defense frames with relatively minor work.

Re: Ancient Lich Development

Personally I feel that a lot of these ideas go way too far in the "bone monster in a cheap horror movie" category. The way to make something scary is to make them mostly human but with a few non-human aspects. If one just mixes together whatever cool bones one can think of, then it's very...

Re: Ancient Lich Development

What is their motivation? I think this is an important questions as it will inform a lich's choices in form; Revenge? add things making it better in combat. Power? Add arms/mouths/new ways of gathering/focusing/channeling energy. What about a lich who has something (living) to protect? more inhuman...

Re: DD's Frankie emporium; terrain, units- evil a speciality

it is interesting to see what the various flap cycles do to the motion, I just strung together the frames to make something originally.

inspired by some of the ancient lich discussions.

Re: Ancient Lich Development

I like the spirit-like lich (of course, I made a sprite trying to express a similar concept, so I suppose in a way that's already been said). the skull in a cage, on the other hand, might be doable but right off it feels (to me) more like a pet of some sort. As a thought, how inhuman is inhuman enou...

Re: Portraits: Drakes

Not an artist so whatever, but some things about the inferno jumped out at me for being "finished"; 1) the outside of the wings, where they fold over, seems strikingly less finished than the inside. This is particularly true of his left (our right). I really don't have a better way to expl...

Re: Art for Wose Faction

Fair enough, pretty cool, and definitely something that differentiates the Wose from the typical image of the "tree shepherd" type ent-creature.

I assume the unit description will explain something about that.

Re: Art for Wose Faction

I really like the strangler, and I think Sfault is right about fruit/flowers/vines. I'd suggest something other than "strangler" for a name, as it seems a little blunt for the Wose. Wirewood wose (wirewose), tanglewood wose (tanglewose), something a that says something other than "I s...

Re: DD's Frankie emporium; terrain, units- evil a speciality

Random aside; one of the bat frames has a pure black shadow rather than the purple (at least it did in the version I'm pulling the images from, it may have been fixed since.) Feufochmar: The only reason I didn't is I completely drew a blank that existed. OTOH, if I get around to trying one of the bi...

Re: DD's Frankie emporium; terrain, units- evil a speciality

not sold on the new MoS yet. I'm not sure where to get a face I'll be happier with though, so this is what I've got for the moment. The I've gotta say the skeletal horrors getting cooked up over in the RoW campaign art thread are going into my little closet of nightmares as some personal favorites. ...
