Re: A few fantasy themed sprites
Lots of good criticism here, but I don't know if you've gotten the kudos you deserve. They look excellent, especially for someone's first sprites. The forest sprite is my favorite, but I agree that the wing movement doesn't function quite right. In designing these, do you have a specific UMC campaig...

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil
What about the sigil on the breastplate of LordBob's Grand Knight portrait? I like his use of rays instead of "fluffy" flames. For reference: http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/download/file.php?id=34010 It kinda reminds me of a university seal I've seen before: http://images.forbes.com/media/li...

Re: The Modern Multiplayer Map Reader's Digest
I ran three AI v. AI games on the updated Weldyn (1.6 rev1) with map settings, default era, and random factions. The second player won every game. Here are the replays: Undead v. Dwarves - Dwarves win http://www.wesnoth.org/replays/1.6/20090912/2p_-_Weldyn_Channel_(1.6_rev1)_Turn_20_(4656).gz Dwarve...

Re: The Modern Multiplayer Map Reader's Digest
I'm also strongly considering stretching (very slightly, so don't get alarmed :P) Freelands, Weldyn, and possibly Caves of the Basilisk. If anyone wants to argue against this, let's hear it. Why make them bigger? Weldyn and Basilisk are a good size for games of short to medium duration. Sometimes I...

Re: Ghosts!
Sweet Shadow. I like the shape of the blades, especially the one that's been bent a little to show excessively rough use. Maybe a little rust would help the blades match the torn cloth the Shadow is wearing.

Bug: AI or map?
Just for kicks, I set up an AI v. AI game on Cynsaun Battlefield. I used the map settings with the default era and left the factions set to random. The result was 76 turns of two orc factions dancing around the map. The second AI never really had a chance, but for some reason the first AI refused to...

Re: TSG Big Map
Will the label for the Heart Wood be placed closer to the center of the forest? Right now, it looks like the part north of the Heart River is the Heart Forest while the southern half is a separate unnamed forest.

His right shoulder armor (our left) doesn't look right to me. Is it facing too far forward?

Re: Cackfiend's Balance Change Ideas for 1.7
I'm for increasing the grunt's cost to 13g. In response to Scatha, I think 13g is still cheap enough to foster a horde mentality. A glider is still worthwhile on large maps because their range makes up for their pitiful combat abilities. It's only on smaller maps that they seem useless. Maybe instea...

Re: New iPhone art - feedback needed!
I think the current units used in the loading screens are good choices and the backgrounds look appropriate for the units standing in front of them. What's the final word on backporting these loading screens?

Re: TSG Big Map
That's a lot of forest. Any chance the Heart Wood could be broken up a little with other geographical features or villages added in? It looks like heaven for the elves. Edit: After looking through the old thread, I see what you're wanting. Maybe breaking the trees into medium-size clumps with swamp ...

Is it just me, or are their heads a little small for their bodies? Maybe it's just the big muscular arms throwing my anatomical expectations off.

It's so good to see the campaign characters getting an update from their old cartoon-like portraits. Looks good.

How does the randomized unit image on the front page work? This one should really be up there.
