Re: Voyage of a Drake: an RPG

Here is solution. Wow, that's pretty different from mine! The only two methods I knew of were almost identical to each other. Anyway, here's my solution in game save form, even though the pictures are probably easier to reference while following along in your own game. (You have to check 'show repl...

Re: Voyage of a Drake: an RPG

So I finally finished this, after three or four nights of playing it, and maybe 800 turns. I quite enjoyed it, so that is not a complaint! The puzzle in the mine was very hard -- or at least, the last section of it took me longer than I'd like to admit. Glad you liked it! And I confess that I made ...

Re: A Fiery Birth-Drake Campaign (9 Scenarios) Now on 1.14

Hey, great campaign! With a bit more work I think this would be good for mainline. Scenario 2 -"the dragon was weaker than over" -> the dragon was weaker than ever -"One of her ancestors," -> I had to re-read this a couple times because I thought it meant one of the dragon's ance...

Re: The Rising Underworld

Honorable Death Thos 'Demon' things have the ability 'enshadows'. This ability apparently creates a portable timezone that's different from the surrounding time (it uses different pictures). Which is weird. Maybe you want to look for the ability 'obscures' (e.g. LotI or IftU), which has the same ga...

Huh, sure I guess. 'Stop to talk' is a common phrase where I'm from.

In other news, it turns out that getting an event to move the horse back to the stable would take a lot of work. :? Some parts of my code are a real mess.

Re: Voyage of a Drake: an RPG

But...why would agreeing to stop to talk with Robert start a talk with Robert? 'Stop to talk,' as in stopping what you're doing for the purpose of talking, not 'stop the talk.' I wanted to point out that you maybe want to code either a 'no job is done twice in a row' You're right, that would be goo...

Re: Voyage of a Drake: an RPG

Awesome, thanks for writing all that up! And he said at one point 'Sometimes I wonder if you can't understand me after all!', which is weird, because he believes that I can't understand him. Maybe he means ' can '? He meant that, yeah, but it's purposely sloppy grammar for his character, sort of an ...

Re: Using the location of a unit

Is that how it works? I think it is. Thanks, Samonella! ;) Yup, exactly right! EDIT: And that's how you manipulate a unit's variables if need be, with [set_variable] , right? Like maybe: [set_variable] variable=generalHelloVariable.goto_x value=52 [/set_variable] [set_variable] variable=generalHell...

Re: Voyage of a Drake: an RPG

Both the Horse and the Hay (from Cada...'s Stable) disappear when I enter Cada...'s House. I had to go back to the Stable to get that Horse once more. (Same with changing 'maps'.) I really have no idea what to do with this horse. It is intended that they don't follow you everywhere, but I can see h...

Re: Voyage of a Drake: an RPG

40,57 and 18,51 count as Unlit Brazier (Void). I'd have expected them to turn to Lit Brazier (Void) when I lit them, but instead they turn into normal terrain (even though they display a Lit Brazier). Is that intended? Yep, the only reason they were void in the first place is that the animation loo...

Re: Using the location of a unit

- Store the unit and then somehow call on the coordinates of the stored unit. Don't know how to do that. - Or use $unitID.x and $unitID.y . It looks like the most promising, but it doesn't seem to be working when spawning units near the leader in a new turn with the [unit] tag going: The right thin...

Re: The Rising Underworld

 Wow, that was close. Two of the teams did have too solid a stream of reinforcements; they're supposed to get gold boosts if they're low (and one a couple turns after the dwarves appear) but have fairly low income other than that. Unfortunately I don't have a save of my own from 1.12 to see h...
