Re: IoA - Newest Portrait: Teresa
Ah, I guess I was ambiguous about them. :P Their purpose was clear to me too, but it was hard for me to get an idea of what they were, like is it a metal bar that connects the two pieces, is the bar curved up, is it flat, is it slotted so the ends go over and under the leather with a pin that slide...

Re: IoA - Newest Portrait: Teresa
ok, first to clear up the cloth issue, it's refering to the blue bit going across her shoulder (it's a bag strap), not her armour (the arrows were drawn on the same layer as the sketch, so when I duplicated the sketch layer and started painting over it, I had to cut off the arrows where they ran int...

YES! :D My favorite campaign returns! ...And suddenly I feel inspired to start doing Wesnoth related stuff too. Yeah, and art critique is later. Right now I'm drowning in happiness. You forgot to mention your favourite campaign's (god I love saying that) replacements for it's crappy old a...

Re: IoA - Newest Portrait: Teresa
ok, aside from a few tears/mud smears, etc, that I plan on adding at the end, I've now gotten Teresa, from the belt up, excluding the arms, done, or at least I think I do *prepares to duck from the inevitable waves of C and C about obvious things that I really should have noticed myself*

I think that he's suggesting that leader units should have boosted stats, and that there should be a revive ability that has a low chance of ressurecting your units that die whilst next to it, and giving them a 15% full health bar

True, although the shading could fix that issue... but then again if he can come up with a fix now then that's even betterSgt. Groovy wrote:It doesn't matter what it really is is, it looks like chicken's tail, triggering the association to the very familiar shape of a chicken.

Re: thespaceinvader's portraits - current, Dwarves
I like how it's coming, except right now the outline of the gryphon spells more "chicken" than "eagle." I believe it's because of the upward pointing feathers that look much like chicken's tail. When eagles stand on the ground, both their wing and tail feathers are pointing down...

Re: Return of the fencer, part deux
his right arm is kinda funky, the upper arm looks allot longer than his lower arm. His upper arm should probably have the shoulder lowered or the rest of it raised. His lower arm looks very stubby, instead of being foreshortened, so the end closest to us needs to be thicker. Either that or the probl...

Re: thespaceinvader's portraits - current, Dwarves
nice, that bird looks properly scary though, like it's staring right at me, and want to eat me.... on a technical note, the dwarf's head position, either it needs to be moved to our left a bit, or that collar needs to be rotated towards the gryphon (and then the head probably still needs moving to t...

Re: thespaceinvader sprites: current, animals
...udder is a strange word. yes, yes it is :hmm: another thing that just occured to me, which actually may just be my imagination, is that their spots (or splodges really) seem very flat (well duh :annoyed: ), what I'm trying to say is that when doing them the ones around the edges, or on curved su...

Re: thespaceinvader sprites: current, animals
the Udders on the cow are too far forward, the bull needs to have that hanging bit cover more of the length of it's underside, and both are a bit too thin (Most of their body seems to be built like they're not starving except their bellies). That is of course assuming that your basing their shape on...

Re: IoA - Reth portrait
ok, Teresa, now with added armour I've deliberately tried to choose armour that looks 'the buisness' but is actually deficient, and have only put it in certain places whilst leaving other places (eg, her belly, prime target for most people in a sword fight). This is because Teresa is effective tryin...

Re: IoA - Reth portrait
I take it the rusted/dull comment is for the metal on the weapon sheath, in order to provide a comparison that she takes good care of the weapon itself, even if her clothes/equipment suffers? If you are going for that line of thought, when you do her boots, maybe scuff them up as well? Worn and old...
