Re: Alternative campaign's mechanics approach
Very interesting thoughts, Aldarisvet. Have you thought about the early finish bonus? It gives as much gold as all villages can provide and upkeep of army is ignored. It means that in your system the early finish bonus will be too high. If village gives less income but more support the bonus won't b...

Re: Antar, Son of Rheor [Development Thread]
And there is one minor issue that shouldn't affect the gameplay, but since I already found it In the same event, conditions [have_unit] [not] canrecruit=yes [/not] x,y=31,25 [/have_unit] and [have_unit] [not] canrecruit=yes [/not] x,y=51,25 [/have_unit] means "there is a non-leader unit standin...

Re: Antar, Son of Rheor [Development Thread]
Hi Sadaharu and Adamant14 :) I hope Adamant14 you don't mind that I investigated the issue, I like your campaign very much and it was hard to resist. The problem is located in the 12_The_Volcano_Mountain.cfg file lines 1655-1659. That condition is true at the first turn, which was not supposed. To f...

Re: BfW is a game that relies on save-scumming too much
TrashMan, actually I don't like what you are suggesting. Lvl3 royal guard can hold a crowd of peasants for a long time. But royal guard will be quickly finished by several royal guards. And peasant will be quickly finished by several peasants. That doesn't look like a Wesnoth issue to me.

Re: BfW is a game that relies on save-scumming too much
RNG is too much of a factor and there is little to no room for error, since your units can die too easily and too fast, so you can't even retreat them. Novice campaigns are more tolerant to player's bad decisions. Intermediate/expert campaigns expect that player makes good/the best decisions. I am ...

Re: The Ravagers - SP campaign now for 1.14 - [Feedback and development]
I found "lurch and hit" description to be a little bit inaccurate. Actual chance to hit is 60%, but tutorial says "70% chance to get hit" (file 5_The_Duel.cfg line 436) Other minor observations: - In the scenario 5 "The Duel" I expected that slaves will keep their trait...

Re: The Ravagers - SP campaign now for 1.14 - [Feedback and development]
Hi, WhiteWolf. This campaign looks fantastic! Story, cutscenes, a lot of new units, interesting features - everything is excellent. You, as a developer, are very attentive to details :) That brings even more pleasure to play your campaign. I just finished first two scenarios. I wanted to post this f...

Re: A Whim of Fate [SP Campaign]
How do you see your recall list if you cannot recall them? Not sure if you already found the answer. As I remeber, clicking alt+r (recall hotkey) is posible on any tile. Actual recall is possible only on a castle tiles of course. By clicking alt+r on a non-castle tile, you can view the whole recall...

Re: What you should know to make your campaign easy to trans
I know that the previous post was added in 2013. But I found this topic very useful and want to leave some comments, hope they will be helpful for someone else. Wouldn't this be solved by just setting the character sex in the [unit] tag? That will help only if you control the dialogues of that exact...

Re: Return from the Abyss [SP campaign for 1.12/1.14]
Hi, skeptical_troll . I am developing a campaign and I took a "Dwarvish Torchbearer" unit from "Return from the Abyss" (once again, one of my favourite campaigns, very very enjoyable). I combined dwarvish portrait (https://github.com/wesnoth/wesnoth/blob/master/data/core/images/p...

Re: The Garardine Ascendancy (SP campaign for BfW 1.14)
I felt like the reward for killing lich is too small. There is also the moral satisfaction  :D Bearing in mind that this is in any case an intermediate level of difficulty, how much would you reduce Betlinda's gold? Starting gold in my case was: Garard 300 Carolys 400 Gan-Lordur 250 Appaladyn ...

Re: The Garardine Ascendancy (SP campaign for BfW 1.14)
Played on normal. Chapter 6 Forced Enemies This was easy one. I simply walked through the map. What do you think about making it harder by: - adding peasants to different spots on the map at the start - modifying terrain to slower player's units (river, swamp, forest, hills, mountains) - mounted uni...
