Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

Araghwaith are treated as a separate race, and they're human for all intents and purposes. Nothing needs to be changed.

Re: Stock art use for Wesnoth

Doesn't "stock art" technically mean that it was made with the express intent of being public domain? If it wasn't made with that intention, then the artist wouldn't be calling it that.

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

I love the name Dunefolk but I do question whether it would be appropriate for the faction name to be the same as the race name. The Drakes and somewhat the Undead fit this bill but for rather specific reasons. In my head there has yet to be another reasonable race name than Dunefolk (as humans) or...

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

I There have been a few mentions of the possibility of moving cities, and a limited number of stable settlements. Note that it's difficult to establish a prosperous and stable settlement in a desert. That would require cultivatable terrain which require water. Consider this: A limited number of stab...

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

I'm a bit confused right now. Wasn't the previous poll for the faction name?

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

Makes sense. Although while I voted Dunefolk, I was expecting it to be the race name, rather than a faction name. Or will they overlap?

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

Uhm, no idea what got you so riled up? The two by far most popular options Dunefolk and Southerners are completely free of any implications about the culture, infrastructure and rulign format of the faction!? Not even sure what being a nomad has to do with how civilised some people are. MTG gave us...

I'm just curious as to what's unclear about this: Did anybody of you guys read this announcement by any chance? If you did, please re-read it and contemplate on the meaning of it. https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=46093 Since you are asking, I wrote: "I really like your work! J...

Re: Stock art use for Wesnoth

Am I missing something? That post clearly asked "Is it okay if we use it with this license" and he was like "K, sure." Is this one of those cases where he needs to give an english-class style full sentence as a response? Hang on. Don't stuff uploaded to DA get posted with a licen...

Re: The Questions that Have no answers.... yet.

It looks like there was a second Golden Age. A Golden Age is usually something people fondly regard as "That awesome time in history where everything went well", but then "things went wrong, we recovered but things never got that good ever again, so we now live in a silver age". ...

Re: a proposed History of the Xalīdı (Khalidi)

That's the problem with fantasy. You can't always tell the difference between mythology and history.

I kid. I recall it was pulled off well with the Quenoth Elves.

Re: Eastern Europe at War (EEaW) - NEW FACTION IS COMING!

I've been looking through the unit list and something caught my attention. I'm by no means an expert on russian millitary titles, but I do know that Knyaz and Voivod were also used in medieval Vallachia and Moldova. And the former ranked lower than the later. I mean I could be mistaken but it's some...

I think the problem is the version. Are you using 1.13 or 1.12?

Re: [mainline] Renaming Khalifate for Wesnoth-ian identity

Yeah, but as someone pointed out, Caliph is an actual religious title in Islam, and not a general term. It would be like the Mage of Light upgrading to a Pope or something. A bit out of place for a fantasy setting.

Hm. Come to think of it, Mal Hekuba's unit type is 'Chaos Cardinal'. Weird.
