Re: GPL Policy
There is a Swedish equivalent of Sacem called STIM, but I won't have anything to do with them as they are basically on the MAFIAA people's leash. Just like record companies, organizations like that are often more interested in limiting choice and preserving outdated business models than protecting ...

Re: GPL Policy
The reason i insist on composers protecting they're own music is because the organizations we are registered too protect us in the best possible way: Per example, if (it won't happen, but...) some other game, TV show, or anything... uses my music without my authorization, i call the Sacem (French or...

Re: GPL Policy
Anyway, I think that there would be some benefit of GPL-ing a musical piece, because it would require the source files to remain available as well. That way, if someone wanted to, say, make a longer composition out of the BfW Main Menu music, it would be possible. GPL would keep the music improving...

Re: GPL Policy
Basically, I've run across some non-mainline music by Doug Kaufman (a mainline music contributor) which I'd like to include in a campaign of mine. Unfortunately, he's unable to release the desired pieces under the GPL, but he is quite willing to release them on a permission basis. I think it should...

Re: Studio monitors?
I can't tell until i hear them. But, in this price range, i had the chance to listen to these, and i was really impressed. If you get a chance, go listen to them in some audio store: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/StudioPro3.html By the way, i strongly recommend NOT to buy monitors unless you...

Re: (re-post) Heroes Rite
I think it works fine. As i said before the crash, i find it to have a little too much reverb. It gets a bit muddy...
But, the composition works fine!

Re: Studio monitors?
Hi West, I am currently using a pair of Solo 6 Be from Focal . Some of the best monitors around. And "cheap" for the quality they deliver. I used a Yamaha NS-10 pair for ten years and i still have them. You can find them for 200$. They are the most classic monitors and all professional stu...

Re: Defeat
This is why i mostly use a very low gong sound. You can hardly distinguish the note, so it works perfectly!

Re: Defeat
Works good now. Just a suggestion; i would have used a root note for the gong. Its better to double de root note than a third or a fifth in the case of a resolution. The sound has a better balance.
Cheers,
Aleksi.

Re: Defeat
Something is fishy in the last chord. It seems there is a note that is not part of the chord. Perhaps it is the gong base note... EDIT: I got it, the gong makes a note in quarter tone between F and F#. Since you have a F# as a major third, it makes conflict. Perhaps you should use another gong sound...
