Re: An Unnatural Winter (MP Campaign)

It would be a shame to leave this gem unfinished. Aye. That's why I'm slowly polishing it up. ;) Another release, 0.5.6, concentrates on polishing the presentation - by adding story images and side-specific intro explanations - and makes it conform better with today's WML standards. Published for b...

Re: Of different approaches to scenario design

The question probably is how to handle "hidden information" in some scenarios. There are always different layers of hidden information in scenarios: 1. you don't know the exact recruit list and total gold of your enemies (true for all scenarios) 2. fog will keep the info from 1. hidden longer 3. shr...

Why doesn't the flag ripple sideways? It looks as if the wind is blowing straight up or down the pole IMO.

Re: Various Nonconflicting Moveto Events

Not sure if you're still working on this, but these two lines do nothing:
Blueblaze wrote:

Code: Select all

{REMOVE_IMAGE hotspots[$i].x hotspots[$i].y}
...
{SET_IMAGE hotspots[$j].x hotspots[$j].y hotspots[$j].img}
I think you'll see it's pretty obvious why... :)

Re: Persistent AMLA options (change from 1.2?)

Okay, two ways to do this. In your code, the event is broken, there is no [filter] tag and no first_time_only=no. [event] name=advance first_time_only=no [filter] type=Hatchling [/filter] {FOREACH unit.advancement i} {VARIABLE unit.advancement[$i].require_amla "non-existant-amla"} {NEXT i} [/event] ...

Re: Persistent AMLA options (change from 1.2?)

I cannot answer your question if this change was intentional or not (probably yes). The way you can disable AMLA's is by giving them a nonexistant AMLA id as a require_amla. Depending on whether these are custom unit types or not there are two preferred ways: 1. advance event AMLA eradication: Use a...

Re: Under the Burning Suns - got out of bed on the wrong side

It's quite possible that The Morning After was adjusted in terms of difficulty since 1.2.1 (which I think was before the refactoring of the campaign). But your bat problem is certainly a stroke of poor luck. For Kaleh's advancements, note that you can see the changed unit in the left part of the adv...

What happens when you set the [unit] [status] ambush = "on"?

Re: event crashes Wesnoth

This cannot work, since Macros are expanded by the preprocessor, and that can't know what your variable value at execution time is... :hmm: The only way to get this to work is to: 1. check the unit trait ids 2. use an [if] around the whole [unit], similar to a case statement with each trait combinat...

Re: "The Long March" in the South Guard Campaign

Changelog? Ooh, my dev conscience was sleeping... Here's what's changed: 1. a small encampment added for recruiting/recalling 2. (a lot) less random elven ambushers 3. more lower level ambushers at difficulties below hard 4. removed some fixed ambushers from the "valley" encounter which clashed with...

Code: Select all

{DEBUG_MSG $temp.[modifications].[trait].id}
That's not right. What are the wml tag brackets doing in there?

[trait] is an array, so you need to reference an element by id.

Try it like this:

Code: Select all

{DEBUG_MSG $temp.modifications.trait[0].id}

Also, spelling aggression with two 'g' will help wesnoth recognize the key, and set it to your preferred -1 and not 0.
