Many kudos. Just played my first Wesnoth in a fairly long while, grabbed this campaign: *great*. Nice plot, good branches to the storyline (I liked the handling o the split forces especially), some neat gimmicks (the materialising daemons), good characters. No problems in the Mines (which I just fin...

I really can't understand this recruitment bug, I'll be trying to fix it before I make any new releases. Could you post exactly what you did (eg, didn't kill Guane, Lamai was killed, etc) so that I know a path which definately results in the recruitment bug. I'm guessing that this: [variables] Angr...

Interesting - yes, (and thanks) VI works just fine on a new Wesnoth installation/new machine, under 1.1.10. Wonder what it is about my main machine that doesn't like it? No worries - thanks again.

Problems finding first scenario?

This seems to happen with several of the user-made campaigns (e.g. 'Scout' and 'Volcano Island' - although that one has other start-up errors also): I get a failure to find/recognise the first scenario. My ultra-basic WML checks show no problem - files have the right names, paths are good, and so on...

I'd appreciate a winning replay of the first scenario being posted, if possible. I must be missing something, but all possible troops are wiped out before I could even come close to killing off a single enemy vehicle, regardless of with whom. No claims to be a Wesnoth champion, but no other campaign...

Update: 'Water and Stone' is a neat scenario. I was relieved to see the return of the forces I had left on the outside, though! FYI, the 'no recruit' bug is still in full swing for that scenario (as well as those previous). A little challenging, therefore, as I have not been able to recruit any naga...

Ranger - sorry about your hard drive.. ...one more for the list: replaying with the latest bugfixes; now I can - and have - recruit(ed) an apprentice, but he doesn't seem to unapprenticeise (now there's a word..) when reaching L4. No big deal, but wouldn't he 'graduate' or something and allow for tr...

Feedback: cute, but right now unplayable :). The setting is novel, the ideas seem fine - often the hardest hurdle - and no crashes yet; but even on 'easy' I can't get to survive for more than 2-3 turns, as the level 3 opponents overwhelm my level 0-ish rabble instantly and have little trouble with t...

I assume you lost quite a few units though (not just cannon fodder) doing that? I guess I should clarify it a bit in the dialogue that there's no need to actually fight the undead, just screen one rider to safety. However, doing just this is ridiculously easy currently, so I should rebalance the sc...

- 'the escape' is a tough scenario, even on 'easy' given the limited gold you have (and unlimited [?]. tough opponents!) You actually tried fighting the necromancers and actually got units to the trapdoor? Wow. I'd never do that - just recruiting a few cannon fodder fighters to screen one r...

Played through to completion - - 'the escape' is a tough scenario, even on 'easy' given the limited gold you have (and unlimited [?]. tough opponents!) - but no more bugs to report - and it's still impressive with respect to all of wml use, plot, and tactical interest. VERY nice - congrats. Hope Cha...

In a different part of my life, I play historical miniature tournament games: take a historical army pre-gunpowder, design a points-bought force from the troops available to that army, go forth to fight against other opponents anywhere from Sumerians to medieval knights. Similarly to Wesnoth, there ...

Next bug :) - slightly odd wml situation: when killing the necromancers in 'the escape,' if there is a unit atop the trap door, it is vanished by the not-quite-killed fleeing necromancer when that unit moves to the trapdoor. Now, I can think of ways in which this could be useful, assuming that unit ...

Delighted to see the update to one of the most polished and innovative campaigns around. Two bugs to report. One minor - when returning Rashdin to the road (scenario 2?) and his guard troops appear, they do so twice and some of the dialogue is repeated twice. One major - one of my scouts picked up t...

Re: Campaign bugs

That's what I did. Did you start from the very beginning? Yes. As I stated, this was the first time I had played the campaign, so there was nowhere else to start. Ye gods. Incidentally, I fixed the missing Fire Dragon unit for 'Treasure', but the game still won't load it - "attempt to de-serialise ...
