Re: Stilt-houses replacement

Works for me. I think similar stilt-teepees have existed, but even if they didn't, stilt houses and teepee houses definitely have, there's no reason they shouldn't exist together. Committed. If you like, it would be nice to have a third variation of the swamp and tropical styles. It's possible we sh...

Re: Water lilies

Adding the flowering pads as a separate terrain is a good idea. It allows the lily pads to be used in more sinister settings (without flowers), or as very happy faery places (all flowers) etc. I know it is tricky at that size, but could you work on the lilies themselves? They look like some kind of ...

Re: Magical Attack Icons (part 2 added)

Thanks guys.

As i said at the top, these weren't commissioned for Wesnoth, so they aren't framed and sized specifically for Wesnoth.

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)

This could make sense as an alternate encampment keep, i.e. the basic idea of a taller roofed wooden fort. But the color and more importantly the scale of the wooden planks contrasts very badly with the walls. I think you need to make a new surface from scratch. It is also a bit awkward that the sid...

Re: homunculus's two pixels

The flag looks good, especially the reflective effect. I'm committing it, but it is up to campaign designers/maintainers to choose where to use it. For the elvish treehouse, what i'm mostly looking for is something that manages to reconcile the different scales that trees and villages are usually dr...

Re: Swamp-Water houses replacement

Good to go for my money, but Eleazar has final call on terrain stuff. Yeah, pity he does not seem to have much time at hand ATM. I agree. :( Please feel free to send me a PM when there's a terrain thread i need to respond to. Sometimes just finding the thread is the hard part. This is good work. My...

Re: Water lilies

I messed around with dumping various units in water with lilies. Any glitching with the transparent characters is not very noticeable. Often it looks perfectly fine even i zoom in and stare at it. So if you want to make it two layers that's fine, but i think very few observant people would ever noti...

Re: Is electricity a "human right"?

Real capitalism after the definition of the books never existed. The USA gets as close as possible. True capitalism and true communism are both things that will never work. Capitalism causes us to go back to times where 5 % of the people had 95% of the money, and communism won't happen bacause huma...

Re: Is electricity a "human right"?

Briefly: 2) What should be done about it? You assume there is only 1 possible solution: Government must mandate that people can get electricity as a "right". But there are other arguably better solutions. Almost every form of charity entered western civilization, not from the government, but via pri...

Re: Is electricity a "human right"?

Well lets ask the other way around why not? Elecricity gets produced no matter what, just because you are allowed to work and can pay for it why should others who can't work and there for can't pay for it don't get it? I mean do you present your kids a bill everytime they get something to eat? Just...

Re: Is electricity a "human right"?

It's not a "right" as i would define "rights". It would be nice if everyone had electricity, but it would also be nice if everyone had a sports car, and a swimming pool and high speed internet access, and as much free time as they wanted for their favorite hobby. In contrast to more traditionally re...

Re: Water lilies

I've added highlights along the right edge of the lilies, since that's where the light source seems to be for terrains, and altered some of the textures a bit. Lighting should actually be coming from the lower right at roughly 45º, so we would see some highlight on the edge facing us. I've also don...

Re: Water lilies

The size looks good to me. ...but also, they need some interaction with the water surface, ripples and the like or they look like just what they are - overlays. I'm not sure I like the idea of them creating ripples - I think it might look weird with the animated water. I'm also not clear on how or w...
