Dots used to be a big PITA until I figured out a system. HTTT has a lot of dots! Here is my official system :). You don't need to go this complex - hovering over the image, reading the cursor location, and recording it would suffice for a small number of dots. 1. Open up the image in an editor, such...

Where were you guys 6 months ago?!?!?! Yeesh, seriously. Not only was I offering to provide all WML support for anyone who wrote a complete campaign [on paper], I was also sailing along building a nice little Wesnoth RPG engine just begging for the plot to be fleshed out. The first thing is out, and...

I have noticed this in AI multiplayer games. Sometimes the AI moves off a village and attacks you from grassland. I have no clue why it does this, but as advice to you, there are probably only 4 reasons you need to move: 1. attack from better terrain 2. make room for other attackers who may not be a...

Re: Leader Unit: XP gain from minion battles

I find the idea of units gaining XP from something else than combat perfectly acceptable Yet the FPI list thinks differently. The big problem with the idea that applies to other non-combat methods of gaining XP is that it doesn't expose the unit to physical risk. Leveling up becomes inevitable. Thi...

I wonder if you could generalize variation by uniting [female] and [variation] into a single tag. Then, you would have a key that specifies if a variation is available as a random possibility when recruiting. A non-recruitable variation is invoked with [effect] just like it is now. One problem with ...

Oh, I forgot to mention - related to this, there seems to be a coloring error whereby the inside of her hood is flesh-colored.
It looks fixed on the black image, but there could be more contrast I guess.

The back of her neck appears to slope back too much. It really looks great, by the way.

Edit: also, what is holding her mask up?

Ok, while we're at it, what is the default data-dir? If you look at the instructions for compiling wesnoth under ubuntu (which happens to be the distribution I'm using), oddly located in the binaries section, it gives a different suggestion for data-dir: ./configure --datadir=/usr/share/games ( htt...

What should I change the configure parameters to, so that I get the intended prefs-dir (/usr/local/games/wesnoth-dev/prefs)?? (And the wiki should probably be updated to reflect this). Using g++ 4.0.2 and make 3.8.0 on Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy Badger). You might try giving your user account write permis...

It should be stored in x2, y2. What does your WML look like?

second_unit.x/y definitely won't work since it's an identification key value (like type or description) rather than a variable containing keys.

If compared according to difficulty, then yes, fighting the dwarves is easier - they can't regenerate, thus have a difficult time plugging up tunnels indefinitely, plus aren't chaotic, plus don't have those murderous shamen plus can't kill most of your units with one strike. So yes, fighting the ug...

Starting from command line is IMO not a good idea. It's even worse for the average user (it would only have the effect to frighten him, or to make him think that it isn't a finished game yet). You guys are eroding the image I have of Linux users as bold, fearless, tinkering, gcc warriors ever in se...
