Unfair of you to cut out the Elven Champion, who is much cooler than the Hero.
True, having a unit reduced to 5 hp is no fun, but that's only 5 hp away from them being dead altogether....
Yes, but if Konrad or Delafor gets dead altogether, then the scenario is over. I have to reload the scenario and try again. If they permanently have 5 HP, then every s...

If you're going to reduce hit points permanently, please make it only a small amount each time, like 1-3 damage per hit. It would be very frustrating to have a full strength Great Mage or Konrad almost but not quite killed and then permanently stuck at 5 HP. Alternately, making wounds that cannot be...

i never said it wouldn't take more than one turn, i said it is possible to make it so your units don't die even though the yeti has a chance to attack you. obviously, though, you don't want to attack the yeti with melee attacks.
I wasn't complaining - I quite enjoyed the scenario, though a d...

I agree that taken to an extreme, my idea would cause problems. I did think of some of the objections you raised in my proposal: * having more gold makes the computer stronger.: Having twice as much gold only gives the computer 40% more gold. Having half as much gold only gives the computer 30% less...

Balancing scenarios against player abilities

I've been reading through the forums and there's a lot of complaints about the same scenario being both too easy and too hard. At some point, someone noted that a big problem with balancing scenarios is that a player's resources can vary so much, it's hard to decide what a balanced scenario is. A pl...

When I played, the Yeti came barreling up after my rapidly retreating Gryphon riders and ran into Delafor, Konrad, and a pair of Archmages at the village just past the first evil wizard's castle. Even with all that firepower, it still took two turns to kill the Yeti. I thought this was a great scena...

SUSE Linux 9.1 PRO

I was testing SUSE Linux 9.1 on an AMD64 system and noticed it. I stayed late at work playing it and then installed it on my home machines.
