They're in ~/Library/Application Support/Wesnoth_1.x - and you can download 1.8 already, from Source Forge.

Re: SVN help?
I get the impression you don't understand a key issue here: svn contains only the data, and the source code - no compiled program for any OS. We packagers do the work of compiling the source code into a .exe, .app, etc. for various OSs every time there's a release. This is generally not a big job on...

Well if you don't wanna download 1.8 and find it has some big bug that's obvious to you, you should try try 1.7.13 and report all the bugs you find!

Re: Playing & CPU fan constantly running. Should I be concerned?
What version of SDL do you have? When I tried upgrading to 1.2.14 on Mac, my MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz couldn't even handle it properly (and it was using 100% of one core), but with SDL 1.2.13, it uses a max of 30% CPU scrolling around a map (usually more like 20%), and when it's just idle, looking at map,...

Re: in game font issue
This is strange; I thought I had that fixed in 1.6.5... Easiest way to fix it is: right-click (or ctrl-click) on Wesnoth, go Show Package Contents, browse to Contents/Resources/fonts, double click DejaVuSans.ttf, and then in Font Book click Install Font. That should fix it; let me know if it doesn't...

Re: Wesnoth 1.7.12 aka 1.8-beta5
Might want to fix the date on the website's front page announcement. We're in 2010 now. :eng: Fixed it. This happens when writing stuff at midnight... And you can probably blame me for that one; I completely forgot to make the Mac package on Sunday, so I had to do it on Monday, making Ivanovic have...

Re: Mac OS X: Cmd-click vs. Ctrl-click
I have insider information suggesting someone will do something about this when the gui2 code is all working (because that'll make it easy) - IF someone submits a feature request. Which I'm too lazy to do at the moment.

Re: Old versions
As far as I know, there never was one. I'm not sure if SDL ever supported OS 9. If there ever was one, it would have to be a version prior to 1.0... I'm really pretty sure there never was though. Sorry.

Re: How To Compile On A Mac
Noted. I'll try to make a new compiling package soon; just have to make sure everything's working good again first (this last release was rather buggy). Also need to catch up on a lot of stuff, since my harddrive broke, and I just got a new one today.

Re: Creating a server on a mac
Well it works fine for me with 1.7.5, so I'm gonna need more details.
I assume you're running 1.7.5? And when exactly does it say you need 1.7.0? Any more details that you think might be applicable...

Re: a little problem while compiling wesnoth
You could also "make install", and then the executable AND the data would be in the right place, and you could just run it with "wesnoth".

Re: What do I need for multiplayer?
Well, there is 1.7.2, but that does sound like a bug to me, if it's saying you need 1.7.3 (which isn't out yet).
You probably should be using stable though.
