Re: Scenario Review: DM 16 - Dark Sky Over Weldyn
It is true that the Iliah-Malal final showdown could have a more gradual climax. But that was skipped because otherwise the campaign would be considered too long.

Re: Scenario Review: DM 13 - The Return of Trouble
I've had my army wiped clean 2 times, I assume permanently Should I spoil it? You assume wrong. My point is that it's unavoidable to have units in the open on turn 4 (in my approach of crossing everyone into the woods), even if they are in a well ZoCed arrangement, when the lead enemies from SW wil...

Re: Scenario Review: DM 13 - The Return of Trouble
Not sure why I'm meant to be interested in this battle at all - it's a generic elves vs orcs interlude (as far as you know until the end of the scenario) Because it ties together a number of stories: -why are the orcs also attacking(as Lleolyn had mentioned) -how come Delf is so friendly with the e...

Re: Scenario Review: DM 16 - Dark Sky Over Weldyn
Has it really changed? In the original version it was mages+heavy infantry, which among other things has been field-tested at Parthyn

Re: Mainline Campaign: Legend of Wesmere 1.7/1.8
Usually you get an automatic win if you defeat all enemies(or all enemies are defeated-perhaps not by you). In this case you win either by defeating all enemies(which is the easier task) or have Kalenz reach the signpost..... Same as in Hostile Mountains, where it's easier/faster to defeat the troll...

Re: Mainline Campaign: Legend of Wesmere 1.7/1.8
You might win as follows: You fight trolls and Griffons(yetis are not a side, just random monsters). Say on turn 12 you killed the trolls and a Yeti that you cannot see because of the fog kills the enemy griffon leader. Then you win and this is what happened. So you got lucky, but getting lucky is a...

Re: Mainline Campaign: Legend of Wesmere 1.7/1.8
I'm not asking for LoW to become a love story. I'm not asking for long flowery speeches to be made. I just wanted some hint(s) it was coming, xD. Why is a hint necessary? This is RPG, and you may be Kalenz(or any other character for that matter), rather busy right now trying to save the world. You ...

Re: Mainline Campaign: Legend of Wesmere 1.7/1.8
is a clear signal of the prediliction of the author towards these units... I learnt that shydes and sylphs are great units by their own, why should I be "forced" to develop them just for narrative purposes? Answer: The original idea is that shydes and sylphs are among the most loyal units...

Re: Mainline Campaign: Legend of Wesmere 1.7/1.8
One small remark on the love angle: My feeling is that this is not that different from TROW, where Haldric and Jessica-now Jessene have zero love talk, it's all business with some funny angle perhaps put it. Even after they win, Haldric says something to the effect 'We have work to do' and Jessene s...

Re: addon campaigns
When anyone is bored on easy, it's time to try 'medium' or 'hard'. Some mainline campaigns are far from easy, at least on 'hard' setting.

Re: Delfador's Memoirs announcements and bug reports
... and why is this a problem? There are many ways to achieve gold balance, such as gold carryover, number of turns, scenario difficulty etc. Why is it important HOW this balance is achieved as opposed to whether the campaign is balanced or not?

Re: Scenario Review: LoW 7 - Elves' Last Stand
i enjoyed the end of the scenario, simply because the enemies didn't have any units to move left and so I was the one playing and not watching Mop-up operations. You have that in most campaigns when at some point you know you are winning. For me it's gratifying to see how you managed to turn the ti...

Re: Scenario Review: LoW 7 - Elves' Last Stand
I'm only stating that to me having lots of units on the battlefield is not that fun to play. If you feel this way, then maybe this campaign is not for you. I already explained why gameplay requires a big fight. IMHO, because Wesnoth is a strategy game that depends on chance, it makes much more sens...

Re: Scenario Review: LoW 7 - Elves' Last Stand
Im supposed to protect the dwarf from the last scenario. He's a noshow. No, he is supposed to help you. Did you read the dialog at the end of the previous scenario. And keep in mind that a) all you have is a promise he will show up and b) he does not specify when....(You'll find out if you finish) ...

Re: The Book of Crelanu
If Archimede's works were lost, I don't think modern science would stop. So, yes, mages learned all of Crelanu's work and some more....
