Congratulations and jubilations...etc...

Fortunately for you all, I decided not to include an audio file of me singing the aged memory of the Eurovision Song Contest, so I will just stick to thanking the developers of Wesnoth for their splendid work, one year on. Thanks guys for a huge amount of fun, and just a little frustration, playing ...

Well, it may not appeal to the purists who would play as if it were life, with no second chances, but the rest of us need save/load to stay sane! ...also many of us do occasionally eat & sleep, preparatory to working in the 'real' world, and starting again every day at the beginning of the scenario ...

Very much agree, I suspect that many of those giving up because of difficulty will sneak back and give it another go soon, refusing to be beaten by AI!! This new AI is a bit lumpy in places, but if it can be subtly sorted, it could prove to be one of the best AIs about, whatever the price of the gam...

How come it autosaves OK, but doesn't manually, or at the end of scenarios?

What's the difference in the saving routine, other than file sorting, and screens? Is there really that big a difference between the way 10.2 and 10.3 handles screens?

It really is a curious phenomenon. :?

Thanks Sith! ...here how come my message double posted itself today? Very strange, must be a ghost in my PC here at work, where I am so busy wearing my fingers to the bone that I... ...no, I confess it's a complete lie, I am sitting having (another) cup of tea. Maybe it was the alternate me, that is...

Re: Yet another attempt at a working Mac 0.7.6

OK... here is another attempt at a build of Mac 0.7.6 which will work for both 10.2.8 and 10.3.3 This is just the basic game + campaign editor rebuilt with the end of April Dev Tools (took a while to download the 700Mb). It has actually built against the 10.2.8 libraries, but will it run??? So coul...

OK... I've discovered the problem in my settings. I'll see if I can get a better cross version compile to build tomorrow. In case it can't build, it would still be useful to know the exact error from the console on a crash as there might be a way to fudge things. Hi Sith, Managed to squeeze in a bi...

On 10.3.3 load / save works for me. Does anyone have any load / save crashes on 10.3.3 or only on 10.2.8? Sadly when I have to move to XCode I had to ditch my 10.2.8 system :-( Oh dear, I wondered about that when I saw that the dev files were to be built in XCode. I do hope it is retrievable, other...

Re: A definition of 'easy'...

Never played Nethack, or any other roguelike? :) I definitely have. I actually found myself cursing at the monitor once. 30 hours, my ******. Six full-time days is more like it for certain games. And may a curse be upon Diablo, D2 and those other games where death is just a free teleport to town! H...

Mac OS problems

It appears to go deeper than that - also completely crashed on a 'you have failed' event, following death of Delfador.

No kernel panic involved, some graphics garbage across lower screen plus pink upper screen momentarilly, program then quit.

Re: BfW 0.7.6 crash when trying to save a game

BfW quits each time I try to save a game, whether from a new campaign or a previously saved game. I tried both ctrl-S and clicking on the menu to select "save" and got the same results. It's with the new 0.7.6 compiled by Sithrandel. I believ it is specific to Mac OSX but I don't know if other Mac ...
