I believe that your "minimum gold" idea is brilliant, Dave. As an adjustable variable it would allow lower difficulties to be more forgiving, but doesn't gimp the harder difficulties like many proposals do. It also gives scenario designers more power to balance their levels how they choose. I am in ...

It isn't included in the 0.9.2 OSX package because said package was not compiled by Sithrandel.

Yes, this would be an excellent feature for an AI in a Wesnoth Fork.

Well since the game is nearing 1.0, and a lot of these features admittedly move the game "sideways"... It would likely be beneficial for everyone if people started considering forks.

If you can find historical evidence of such weapons existing (images from a book/reliable online source), I'll believe you, but that seems doubtful. Irrelevant of the realism of bows as weapons (as an archer I find it hard to believe that bows would ever be used as melee weapons), how does this ben...

I am having great difficulty running it on 10.3. This is mainly because I don't freaking have Ten Point Three!! . Give us poor Jaguar users a chance! I am sorry for that outburst... but it's $130 to upgrade from 10.2 to 10.3. That's money I don't have. Are we talking US dollars or another currency?...

scott wrote:What do you think of the trouble people are having getting it to run on 10.3?
I've personally run the build of four different 10.3.9 systems (1ghz MDD G4, 933mhz G3 iBook, 1ghz G4 iBook, 1.8ghz DP G5) and it works perfectly. I'm doubtful the OS is the problem.

I suspect that what you'll find is that it's not practically possible to secure any technological product against cheating, open code or not. Security has to come at the user level. Play against people you trust. - b. I agree with aelius here. In the end it really does come down to trust... After a...

PREFERENCE, n. A sentiment, or frame of mind, induced by the erroneous belief that one thing is better than another. An ancient philosopher, expounding his conviction that life is no better than death, was asked by a disciple why, then, he did not die. "Because," he replied, "death is no better tha...

I would say that there are three worlds that the recent (1980's-now) fantasy story draws from: J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth Dungeons & Dragons Traditional Mythology and Legend Unfortunately these three sources are often conflicting and confused with eachother. Wesnoth's notion of Elves is completel...

Just form one - you don't need a system. We used to have some like "Mercykillers" - MK and "We Are Yousnoth" - WAY. As has been shown time and time again games that don't have built-in support for guilds generally make the formation of guilds worthless (see Diablo 1, Diablo 2, StarCraft guilds and ...
