Re: Purger of Evil SP campaign (Wesnoth 1.12/1.14)

Scenario 08-1 posted as part of version 0.1.3. Scenario 08-2 will be in the next update. Post feedback here so that I can know what needs to be fixed and what is great. Thanks.

Re: ResExsention's questions on the art of "Lua-ing"

Huh. Well, mattsc, thanks for pointing me in a direction that might help me out in my quest to make a complex AI, so thanks. I'll take a look at that file. Celtic_Minstrel, thanks for also pointing me also in another relatively correct direction. I'll certainly take a look at that, too. EDIT: Well, ...

Re: ResExsention's questions on the art of "Lua-ing"

Yeah, that is kind of sad... I mean, there is a LuaAI page, but it doesn't define functions and stuff very well, and there also is a Creating a custom AI with Lua page, which was more helpful, but still didn't give me the functions and stuff I was looking for. So I haven't gone anywhere with that AI...

Re: ResExsention's questions on the art of "Lua-ing"

So my first question pertaining to Lua relates to setting up a Lua AI which is basically the standard RCA AI but with this added in somewhere: 1 - Evaluate and move units to potential targets. 2 - Evaluate if any enemy units are in range. 3 - If so, make units form a defensive line, facing the enemy...

ResExsention's questions on the art of "Lua-ing"

Hi! Lua is a very interesting and powerful language; ever since starting with wesnoth UMC development, it has always intrigued me, and I've always wanted to participate in the discussion on the Lua Labs forum... And I don't believe it; I'm here! So I went into the LuaWML page, learned some basic syn...

Re: Edwylm's sprite alterations

Yes. Now, to comment on the throwing wose you have, instead of rocks, you could try a tangle of foilage or a ball of wood, as rocks don't seem natural to a wose. And you could also try adding a shadow and making the first one slightly slimmer; it looks a little too fat, and doesn't seem to look righ...

Re: Edwylm's sprite alterations

Tribes55, I totally agree with you. I mean, I do spriting from scratch myself, and it's really all about practice. If you need a unit (say, an Elvish Overlord [duh, it's my icon]), take, for example, the Elvish High Lord and do stuff like adding more swords or swirling the cloak in gold, etc. Then, ...

Re: Edwylm's sprite alterations

Wow! Nice! I like the middle variation the best; not to dark and not too light. They could also use a bit of directional angling; they look two dimensional, looking sideways like that. Oh, and also, did you make these from scratch?

Re: Edwylm's sprite alterations

Edwylm, pretty nice-looking vampire wose you have, all I have to say is that they look a little too dark, and maybe the eyes could be repositioned a little bit; they look kind of wrong where they are, in my opinion.

Re: Using the location of a unit

Ahh. I get it. So this is what it should look like? [unit] side=1 type=General id=leaderID name="General Hello" canrecruit=yes recruit="Royal Guard, Halberdier, Master Bowman" x=50 y=50 [/unit] And then: [store_unit] [filter] id=leaderID [/filter] variable=generalHelloVariable [/...

Using the location of a unit

Hello! I've been working on a campaign so far (Purger of Evil) and I would like to find a way to call on the location of a specific unit as a variable in a generic event (not one of those moveto events in which $x1 $x2 would work fine, but in something like a new turn event, where $x1 and $y1 could ...

Ported to 1.14. 1.12 version abandoned for now; might return to it in the future. Post bugs in the 1.12 version here if they pop up.

Re: ORC'ifying dialogue

Agreed. Though I would counter the fact that "most humans in Wesnoth receive a proper education" is not exactly accurate. Saying that only some humans get good education is more accurate. Mages contribute a lot to the educated part of the Wesnothian humans, should I note. As for orcs being...
