Re: The Black Cross of Aleron (formerly Besieged Druids)

Hey Celtic_Minstrel, I've done a little replaying and checked the workings of the haste potion. If a unit is ambushed and then given a haste potion it regains the ability to move that very same turn (at least on 1.14.5), unless it has attacked before taking the potion. I hope it helps. :) Edit (15-0...

Re: Elvish Shamans vs Mages in HttT

Given that this is about HttT I don't think it happens at all, but in other campaigns there are units which can obscure and thus nullify the illuminate effect, also, if you are fighting against humans you can change things for the worse by giving them light. Another thing to remember is that, if you...

You should consider upgrading to 1.14.7.
Does BfW 1.14 even run on Windows 7? Not that I'd ever object to people installing Linux, but it's not for everyone.

Re: 1.14 SP Campaign: Trinity

Also, I don't terribly mind playing a villain, but Echidna's not the best of characters. Her motivation is to conquer the world because she has to and all her Khthon units are not the desperate fugitives of BMR, the revenge-seeking Scarrion, or Bresda's religious fanatics; instead they are just min...

I'm getting a map tile error on S3 and S20 like previous posters, but the text edit solution doesn't work for me.
(this remains unanswered)

If you edit the file you have to retart the game and load again. I hope that helps.

Re: 1.14 SP Campaign: Trinity

Yes, that's the draw for me. Good stories. I don't mind a mindless romp such as playing DotA, but if I'm going to play a series it's far better when the scenari are linked. It's also something that takes replay value, I need a few months, maybe even a year of cooldown before revisiting (reliving) a ...

Re: For Power (0.6.5)

Hey, when will you finish this campaign? Hi. To be honest, I no longer actively develop this campaign anymore. I still occasionally do some minor changes/improvements but I do not really work on new scenarios nowadays. That still won't deter me from liking it enough to finally restart it and play a...

Re: 1.14 SP Campaign: Trinity

I haven't gotten round to powering through BMR 1-2-3 and then Trinity yet (these job things get in the way), but when I did in BfW 1.12 late last year there was the bug that in Trinity Part 2 there's two elves, an archer and a shaman, who join Nemesis/Bresda Varden's side. Eventually the archer is a...

Re: Poll: do orcs eat humans?

Well, a question right there is whether they will always meat any available meat or just the ‘normal’ animals and only eat other sapient beings when they have no alternative? That alone might be a good way of characterising different orcish tribes if you don't want to have them as generic monsters t...

Re: Oath of Allegiance [SP Desert People Campaign for 1.13.5]

Bearing in mind that… Thanks! That's nice to hear! The Camel Soup track is by West afaik, and had been uploaded in a music package some time ago. I made a sequel but did not manage to finish it and gave up eventually. And unfortunately I am not much interested in updating or maintaining the campaign...

Re: Poll: do orcs eat humans?

that trilogy should be considered heretical. Well, that might be going a bit far (it's a pretty good movie trilogy!), but it definitely has its flaws... and eliminates the entire final subplot which is kinda annoying. If I were the Tsar of all the Russias and we were to discuss heresy I might consi...

Re: Poll: do orcs eat humans?

Humans have eaten humans IRL.

btw, proverbial two cents: if you're trying to follow Tolkien's lead I do not remember the author himself saying anything on the issue. The line ‘You shall eat manflesh!’ was uttered by Saruman in Peter Jackson's trilogy, but that trilogy should be considered heretical.

Re: Wesnoth 1.14.6

I've been thinking about it and IIRC PPA Vincent (my packager for the installation on this machine) did skip from 1.14.3 to 1.14.5, but I'm not 100% sure. Well, it's a little over a month since 1.14.6 so we're within the usual timeframe and I am in no hurry since 1.14.5 is running very smoothly -whi...

Re: Antar, Son of Rheor [Development Thread]

I never had that problem because my packager's latest version is still 1.14.5, but I've updated it in advance anyway to keep it safe.
