Agreed, it shouldn't use the system decimal separator settings for game data files. Can you answer my last question? Where in the config files did you change a period to a comma in your initial attempt? It'll be a lot easier to fix the bug if we knew that.

What's your system locale? Does it display decimal fractions with a decimal point or a comma? Does the problem persist if you change locale to English (USA)? Can you point to the exact file and line where you changed decimal point to comma?

Recently the amount of XP gained on combat/kill were made tunable, see bc89512a5c000e0546676a3d0ae0f1be20b31731 . That's not been released yet. Have you tried just decreasing $unit.experience by 8*enemy.level before the combat? Even if that makes it negative that doesn't seem to break anything. Then...

No way that I will disable music and sounds as these are the soul of the game and my recordings would suffer if I do. I didn't mean to disable it permanently. Thanks Paulomat. I'm not sure if Unitmarkers should be changed or if wesnoth upstream should come up with a backwards compatible solution. If the former, then the change should certainly be mentioned in changelog.

Commit https://github.com/wesnoth/wesnoth/commit/1a7724e547201d0ff1fda048b6079559d6da560c in master causes the markers to disappear when a unit advances. That'd work too. In either case there's a race condition (an add-on without a link, or a thread without an uploaded add-on), but you get to pick which one it'll be.

Can you try disabling animated terrain in preferences and see if that helps? Those scenarios have a lot of water hexes. If that doesn't help try disabling music/sound in case the problem is in the audio subsystem.

P.S. If you're recording please consider posting the replay savefiles as well!

It's not mandatory, but I'd say it's recommended. Without it it will be hard for players to give feedback.

About the chicken and egg problem, what I did is upload the addon, start thread, add topic id to pbl and upload again. It took two minutes.
