Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

I'm happy with this rendition, which has only minor tweaks. If anybody notices any problems that I missed, it would be appreciated if they were pointed out. kait-first-03.png I suspect this will be my last sprite for a while, as I'm currently trying to work on multiple campaigns and life is throwing...

Re: Hold my Bear I got this [DBL's Request thread]

Hello darkbearlab! I've got a request for you, for when it gets around to my turn. I'm in no hurry, as I consider custom-made art a luxury. So for whenever you have the time: Mar: 1: Young- late teens/young adult. In fact, he is a teenager in the first campaign he's in. 2: Male. 3: Human. 4: Headban...

Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

Thank you for the feedback and suggestions! I apologize for the late reply; I was having quite a bit of trouble with the next character's pose. mar-first-finalmaybe.png How's this for Mar? I think I need to practice making hands... kait-first-02.png Lady Kaitlin, of the now non-existent La'Ness trib...

Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

Okay, so third update. I didn't do much, but I sure took a while doing it. Any suggestions? (I'm thinking he's a l2/l3 unit, so size doesn't really matter.)

Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

Nice good progress with you sprites! I especially like the fox. :D 8) (I noticed the most recent sprite you are drawing needs a shadow, but you probably realize that) Thanks for the compliment! I had realized that about the shadow, but forgot about it just as quickly  Mar looks very flat. It m...

Re: The Gnats Franken Dungeon

Whoah... and I mean Whoa ! 2 things: (alright, three, but the third is shadow advice) the light-rider's right knee has an odd black spot jutting out. Not sure if that is intentional. The other thing: The Destrier's right head doesn't pop out as much, and it almost looks like it's being held by its r...

Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

Thanks, Doofus-01! Hopefully we'll be able to see what it looks like "in game" soon; I think the large size will work perfectly. I guess I'm not going to need to use your wolf anymore! I'm changing the character to a giant fox instead of a giant wolf 8) Just to clear up confusion (and to t...

Re: The Gnats Franken Dungeon

These are well put together. Congrats on another set of portraits well done! Ah, actually, there is a bit of something inside the skeleton rider's left elbow. I think when you moved his arm you had part of the axe outline selected. But other than that, it's... dare I say impossible? to tell that the...

Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

:) Thanks! I was actually thinking of working on animations, but maybe I'll work on a unit for my campaign. I'd like to be able to animate though, so I will get around to that eventually.

Re: The Gnats Franken Dungeon

Nice! Now where on earth (or Irdya) did you get that blade? 8)

The red wings do seem a bit off. Maybe if you de-saturate them just a bit? Hmm.. Come to think of it, I'm not really sure what's bugging me.

GunChleoc said it! Though it seems like the shading on the rear half makes it look twisted for some reason... I dunno. It could just be me.

Re: Nenau's sprites, needing advice

Hey Nenau! They look like a pretty good start! A few things that I noticed after a quick look; the elephant's shadow looks like it is reflective water or something like that. It seems a bit off. The spear-tips look dull. As in not pointed. The bottom spearman... I think his leg should disappear behi...

Re: CC is fair game now!

The CC0 summary says You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission. See Other Information below. Does that give me permission to distribute a derivative of a CC0 work under the GPL v2? I only read the "human-readable summary&q...

Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

Aaaahh... Yeah, the missing 'h' threw me off. I knew she did the originals, but I didn't know she did these modifications. (In fact, they aren't even on her contrib page iirc...) Okay, I think I fixed most of the problems, though I may have missed some of them. The tail doesn't seem to stand out as ...

Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

It's a bit wonky. The shoulders are very beefy, whereas foxes typically look very slender, and the front elbows are way too low. The pose doesn't really scream "fox" either; if you see a fox standing around, then it's pretty likely to have its head perked up and front legs straight. True,...
