Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

Alright! Near final (more or less) draft, unless there are problems I missed. Pasting the duelist's hat on top of the unit made the problems stick out, and I came up with this. I may still need to adjust hue/saturation on some of the outlines for the sprite in general, but I'm pretty happy with my l...

Re: A Sangine Tale (Ani's Legacy, Ani's Quest)

I just finished a play-through. Bad news; everybody died :( I really liked the campaign. It was nice being able to just throw my leaders into the fracas and get them killed, not having to worry about losing. S1: Opening conversation: Kaltheor says I cannot not live without her. Scenario Patri...

Now I remember why I always stopped drawing... That hat is giving me no end of trouble :x I can't get it to look decent. Of course, making the hair behave differently might help, but I'm dropping it for tonight. Actually, on second thought, changing the hair might be all I need.. :hmm:

Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

Nice to see new artwork from you. I like the pose of the new sprite. It's hard to draw a good one for twohanded weapons (especially swords. I don't think I've seen many mainline examples), but you handled it pretty well. Thanks! I've been doing research on longsword fighting recently, and I'm kind ...

Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

You should use more dark colors, that warrior looks like a spaceman. Don't worry about outlines too much, except maybe for the left side of the sprite (assuming eastern light-source). Thank you for the color tip! I wouldn't have given the brightness another thought, if left to my own devices. I'm a...

Re: Elvish Incursion: A Prologue

I just uploaded a quick fix. Playing through it a few times, I have concluded that it is no longer so hard to complete. I did not, however, shorten the map, not because I'm disregarding your advice; indeed, I think I should probably rework the entire scenario and shorten it as well, but this last pl...

Re: Poll: Best new campaign of 2017

I just noticed this page  But the only one I've played is Elvish Incursion, which I'm more or less sick of by now

Re: Elvish Incursion: A Prologue

Thank you; I hope there will be a main part as well  I'm trying to keep these campaigns short and compact, yet add more characters and scenarios as well. And with so many characters it's hard to do decent AMLA s. (One of the saving graces of the prologue being so short is that I can get awa...

:augh: I should have checked that before referring to them... especially since the links were posted five (!) years ago. Sorry about that.

You could conceivably swap the dread lich sprite with the eternal lich sprite by changing the png file names. But that doesn't help bring you closer to another l5 unit.

Re: Vulpine's "art" thread. (and questions concerning art)

Here's that guy with the helmet I mentioned... After reading this by Vyncyn, I took a shot at it with a UMC orc unit. I just kind of threw the cloak on, because it's the easiest method of team coloring I know of  I'll probably try adding a plume, or something else instead. Warrior-1.png Edi...

Re: Elvish Incursion: A Prologue

Thank you, Losthunter; if you liked the classic 'defend the fortress' scenarios then you'll love the next campaign when it comes out :D I think I probably have three too many in there. The next campaign is coming, just really slowly right now. I'm in the middle of NaNoWriMo, which doesn't leave much...

Re: The Random number generator

I thought I read somewhere that the number generator was constructed so every time a unit missed the odds of hitting became slightly greater and vice versa (to a certain extent). But I could be very mistaken.
