Huh, that's pretty strange. They rejiggered all the terrain so that its 90 degrees rotated, which invalidates all the terrain transitions? IMO the terrain transitions are what makes the wesnoth terrain look good, idk why they didn't just make new art if they wanted to do this. Wesnoth hexagonal sys...

Well done sprites with a lot of work put in. I'm surprised they are not being appreciated more widely and people continue use some older cheesy versions.

Especially love the mechanical dragon - it would have made amazing boss for some goblins vs dwarves campaign.

Okay. I've made a crude attack anim, using a few frames from the first post.

Made an Ogre sprite for Wesnoth and possible other games.

Based of http://opengameart.org/content/cyclops-monster-2d which is GPL, so you can safely use it with your addons.
