Re: Descriptions for possible future mainline maps

No problem! I am just sad I was actually kind of late on the ball here - this thread was posted months and months ago and I only just noticed it. They probably could've used this a while back!

Re: Descriptions for possible future mainline maps

Way to completely copy my clearing gushes description in more words. I mean, the Baltic Sea isn't a place in Wesnoth so. But rewriting things seems to be more or less what I do here these days? I meant not anything by it, I just have a particular writing style and wanted to do all of the things up ...

Re: Halt the election

...i didn't even know there was an election? But looking at it what I think you're referring to it's clearly an affair between the current prominent developers of the game. All they're doing is organizing which of them is best able to run the emerging legal matters that Wesnoth will need to concern ...

Re: Coding, Terrain Advantage, Damage

The dangers of self-education while disregarding the basics... or just anti-math trolling. I reported this thread, pointless as is. It's rather un-necessary to report this thread. That is for cases of active malicious breaking of forum rules - this is just a debate on how probability works. In any ...

Re: Coding, Terrain Advantage, Damage

Personally I don't believe there is a such thing as luck whatsoever, and that every time probability is tested, it is pretty much independent of everything else. After all - technically speaking, testing two coin flips isn't an isolated system, because there have been coin flips before yours in the ...

Re: Coding, Terrain Advantage, Damage

Which it the bigger shame? That you don't have a clue and publish this tripe? Or that someone will read what you wrote and actually believe it? This kind of talk is rather rude and unproductive, please refrain from it. Welcome to the forums, Richter. Probability is one of those hotly contested thin...

Re: Descriptions for possible future mainline maps

I will try my hand at this! (you can add in any gameplay clauses like 'best suited for X vs X style of play' or what have you). Swamp of Dread North of the Great River lies the Swamp of Dread, a vast, inhospitable mire cursed by foul magic. There exist only a few routes that aren't nearly guaranteed...

...i still do not know why the Khalifate has the Mufariq and Tineen as leaders in AoH but don't have the Faris and Qatif-al-nar in default!

Re: Some portraits

Hi, That's not bad, but I believe more of the body needs to be shown for mainline portraits. Granted, a monster or animal like the wolf doesn't get the same cropping as a human/elf/etc., but if anything, more of the figure would be shown. Something doesn't seem right about the lower jaw, but I'm no...

Re: Is editor sufficient to build a campaign?

gfgtdf wrote:even for intial units, the editor will create wrong wml (it will write underlying_id attribute) that must be removed later by hand.
What does the underlying_id attribute do and why is what the editor sets for initial units not going to work for the actual campaign?

Re: Mainline campaign sprites and animations needed

Honestly I'm of the opinion we ought to do away with the Sea Orc entirely! it's not even clear what exactly it is since it's described as a goblin but seems to just be one of the smaller orcs? but I mean, it's literally just there for a one-off joke and honestly it isn't really a particularly great ...

Re: More sigils for Wesnoth!

I sort of like the idea of having sigils be used kind of like flags tend to be used! Maybe they could be somewhere displayed next to factions and stuff...They probably ought to be magenta-ized to fit team colors too. There's something to this idea! (and I think a decent logo isn't as hard to make as...

Re: [Mainline] Deep Dwarfs

I think there's not much with an explicit blade weakness on purpose. Most of the time, pierce and impact are counterparts. Some things resist pierce (which is far and away the most prevalent ranged attack type and a staple melee attack type every faction uses a lot of barring the Rebels), but are in...

Re: Drakes and Saurians

I am personally slowly working on solidly establishing the nature of this! I think it is unlikely the Drakes and Saurians are related too much, as it appears as though the Drakes migrated from far to the west, while Saurians seem to have been on the Great Continent for a very long time. They might b...

Re: Khalifate "Khalid" unit - did I miss something?

I think the Arif into Shuja line is sort of incomplete and from earlier depictions. Not in the least because the Shuja is the 'default' path that inherits the Arif's defining marksman-blade, but it looks nothing like it (and indeed, earlier it was the alt-promotion Mudafi that looked the most simila...
