Re: Female Avatars
Then there's the curious case of the Wesnothian mage - half of all recruited mages are female, but almost all of the named mages that I can think of are male. Seriously, think about it. Delfador, Leollyn, Methor, Moremirmu, Minister Hylas, Minister Edren, the Red Mage Twins, Elrian, Ratheln, Seimus...

Re: Female Avatars
Instead, societies like our own, gives men and women the same options, so when we see a woman in this role it's seen as out of the ordinary and when something is out of the ordinary, it means there's some kind of story behind it. The thing is though, the societies in Wesnoth actually do put women o...

Re: The Rise of Wesnoth 22 - The Rise of Wesnoth
(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? Wesnoth 1.14.7 on Medium. 399 starting gold. (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 10. I couldn't beat it. (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Fairly clear. (4) How clear and interesting did ...

Re: Era Artworks (Army of the Night & Soul's Order)
The Soul's Order sprites are really good, and show a lot of creativity in coming up with unique unit aesthetics. The Army of the Night sprites are more simplistic, mostly being Loyalist frankenstein & recolours, but you've executed that concept well. If you're planning on using these units in ga...

Re: EarthCake's units
Try to picture the guy's arm behind the shield. As it is, he'd have to be contorting his arm to quite an uncomfortable angle to bring the shield directly in front of him like that. A more natural grip would have the front of the shield facing slightly more to his left. Does that make sense?

Re: Mainline TC Issues
I had a look and the north-facing Skeleton is fine for me.
I do get the same issue with the Berkserker though.

Re: The Succession in Heir to the Throne
Wasn't the succession system in England also strictly patrilinear? Until there came the point, when there wasn't any male heir left, and all of a sudden it was actually ok for a woman to become queen? It's probably the same here. That's not strictly patrilineal (or agnatic) succession. It would pre...

Re: Dunefolk Rework - Unit Descriptions
I don't think you have to, it's up to nemmara (Yumi) how descriptions will look in the end anyway. The more ideas the better. Of course I don't have to, but I enjoy doing it, so why would I not? ;) --- Here's the revised descriptions for the Naga. I've almost entirely removed the piracy aspect - al...

Re: Increase multiplayer numbers?
Having a Users > Tournaments subforum would accomplish the same purpose as a stickied thread, I think. The purpose of the sticky is to have an easily accessible, curated, list of events. If you create (and bury) an events subforum somewhere, players will miss it, not sign up, events will fail, comm...

Re: Dunefolk Rework - Unit Descriptions
Well, Greek city-states doesn't seem like a bad angle to be honest. But soldier is the most basic unit of an army, so in your Spartan example, without additional context, I would assume the word applies to one of the 35,000 rather than the 10,000. Mind you, technically it works for both though. You...

Re: Dunefolk Rework - Unit Descriptions
I don't think the Dunefolk would be known for being wealthy. That's not to say they don't have wealth, just that it's not something they're known for, and probably not something notable when compared to (for example) Wesnoth or the elves. The race description does portray the Dunefolk as famous for...
