Re: Legend of the Invincibles

* I've put some fixes into End of the World on github this past week. I never saw the leaders be duplicated though. Generally I'd like to make the scenario significantly harder, as I found it nearly trivial, but I didn't submit that set of changes. * I would like to see the blood rain come a little ...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

Upon further thought, probably suck and spell suck should stay blue, because gaining hitpoints is really defensive.

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

Coloring of item effects needs better consistency. What should it be? Set bonuses are purple. Improvements to resistance are blue. I think any "defensive type" bonus should be blue. So I would change dodge from green to blue. New abilities are currently blue. I think they should have their own color...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

And marrowind doubles (or more) the number of attacks (instead of 30%), it doesn’t change a lot actually, everything is dead after the 7th or 8th hit. Just like I said on another question a few posts back, that item gives the Anger weapon specials, which doubles attacks by both sides when you attac...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

It doesn't increase attacks by 100%, it grants the weapon special anger, which doubles attacks for both sides when you attack. Wesnoth shows the doubled attack count. Equality gives 20% more attacks. There is a bug that doesn't show the % symbol. Personally I think "ranged damage increase" should ap...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

Interesting. It appears that a heal from an item is always ignored in favor of a heal from the unit itself. Github issue created. It should be the highest. Abilities are never intended to stack, merely to pick the best one. Suck and spell_suck stack, damage, resistance and dodge in various forms sta...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

white_haired_uncle, the general idea is to keep most attack upgrades somewhat equal. Certainly "equal" is never achieved, but going from 25x1 to 25x2 would double damage, and thus be too much of a no-brainer choice. Making it 25x1 to 16x2 means the gain is roughly similar to other available AMLAs. T...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

white_haired_uncle, 1) I recently observed something similar about final kill item drops. I believe it applies to scenarios where the victory condition is not "kill everything". I see now how it matters a lot more in part 1, where items are rare. Edit: Actually, the situation I found doesn't explain...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

One thing I notice in LotI (and elsewhere, but I really notice it in LotI) is that enemy leaders effectively never attack. A massively powerful demon lord will sit on his recruitment spot and never attack, even if out of recruitment money. A really wimpy unit (zombie) might draw an attack, but decen...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

Scary, sorry no one has responded sooner. Dugi and edwardspec just upgraded a bunch of the LotI code and its currently a bit buggy. The improvement is large, but currently it isn't perfect. The weapon special bug has been fixed on the github version. I'm pretty sure the potion should have worn off a...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

The new Doctrine of Vindictiveness DoV3 is incorrect. It is the same as DoV2. I'm not sure what it should be or I'd just fix it.

Ignore my comment about item drops for now. I will propose something more detailed. There are more interesting things to tweak currently.

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

My apologies if the below comments are based on bad information; I read the github diff's only. 1) I'm surprised you dropped Lightning Agility to only 1 move. 2) New item Searing Ice has suck 2. Nothing else has suck 2, and suck is AWESOME. Drop it to suck 1. Or at least leave suck 2 only on easy, a...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

Why do people vote to change Intoxicator? Is it too good? Other than the cheapest stuff, it's probably my most used item - Efraim always gets it. I think I voted for Retribution because I never consider crafting it. Its resistances are unimpressive and its other benefits are not noticable. I think s...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

Of using the loyal book? No drawback. Of having the loyal book in existence? Fewer useful books. I don't find money to be a problem, so more of it would not be noticably helpful. If you really like money, put the Generous Armour on a loyal unit and let it sit around every scenario. See if you can no...
