Re: Guess the song

Dugi, that was easy, without googling! It's 'Escape from Oblivion' from Efraim's second album 'Ascension' (also on 'Best of Ceisse'). In an interview with Sky TV Weldyn he stated that the lyrics were inspired by the concrete experience of his lady hovering between death and eternal life as superwoma...

Re: Wesnoth archers need an upgrade

Stunning! Practicing archery for several years, I now finally know where this feeling of unease comes from. Yeah, to be historically correct Wesnoth's archers have to retrain their skills. Marksman and berserk wouldn't do, it's all about agility and motion. And how to hold the bow... Thanks for this...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

I fully support the proposal of a subdivided thread by chapters.
This has nothing to do with egoism or privileges, but increases user-friendliness!
To search this thread for specific information is... well, :augh:

Re: Change title screen music

IMO, the soundtrack should be battle music. The opening 'Main Menu' music is very good... I just heard it too often. My vote: Battle Epic. It sounds... well, epic, heroic, mystic and somehow touching – all in all inspiring. Personally, I would think it splendid, if it was even possible to enhance it...

Re: Im looking for really easy campaigns.

Unite the Clans
A campaign with 11 strings by Elven (Stanislav Hoferek).
Though no translated version is mentioned in the description on the server,
I guess it's the most-translated UMC. ;)

Re: Language in Wesnoth

max_torch: … all the races seem to be able to understand each other Well, not all. Remember: bats for sure, rats... and maybe other animals were kept from talking! (fortunately, not drakes, lizards and gryphons) This, however, does not mean that those creatures do not communicate with each other. It...

Re: Wesnoth 1.12.0

First successful 'bugfix' that straight away caught my eye: I always felt that wooden dowels would look better on the map table of the main screen than rather new nails from some ACE hardware store. Some timid attempts to improve the image failed: the nails were solidly wedged in massive planks, hea...

Re: Ideas for a UI facelift

I'd like to suggest to improve formatting of descriptions in the 'Help' section – if possible.
IMO, the aspect on the right looks better and makes the quite extensive description easier to read.

Re: [interface] help buttom for unit advancement?

Ah well, I imagined that there was a reason why nobody had come up with this splendid idea so far. The big "Profile" button is not missing – I took it for a headline, never clicked on it. Hotkey "d" works perfectly, too – I should take the Wesnoth Tactical Guide more seriously and check the ho...

[interface] help buttom for unit advancement?

New players might not be familiar with promotion opportunities, I myself have problems with new units in UMC and their upgrade options. I do not always check the possibilities before starting a scenario, or do not remember the details. The 'agony of choice' might be a feature, but I would rather lik...

Re: Kite fighting

Well, it's hard to start a fight with one kite only...
The trick is to control your kite, avoid entangling, but rather CUT the line of your competitor.
To achieve this you turn your line razor-sharp, coating it with glass, hooks or blades
(protect your hands!)

Re: Add-on server updated translations

… translations have not been updated since april 2014.
ehm, … at least. Some might have been waiting for two years.
Surely, not only the Spanish translating team (or Pepe)
is waiting for a solution to the problem.

Re: UMC lost in English Translation

It's a shame that all the hundreds, thousands of native English speakers of the Wesnoth community never realized the improper use of the word add-on! :? However, "additional stuff" sounds interesting in the context of a fantasy game … I would immediately click on this link, and more than once throug...

Re: Translation Accuracy

Re: How did you find out about Wesnoth?

Found it on Wikipedia, too, checking for definition of "sprite": Curious about " A sprite of a fencer unit from Wesnoth " (see: 1.2 Sprites by software) Another reference to BfW on Wikipedia: the Lich portrait!
