Re: Why are all mainline campaign leaders male?

a real flagship campaign for girls I think it should be written by girls and for girls Yep, oberon´s girl should not fiddle with boys' stuff. To be honest, I wasn´t aware of the gender specific nature of BfW-campaigns myself. I am glad for playing a game for "real men", hopefully female UMC authors...

Re: Why are all mainline campaign leaders male?

Why are the enemies so often female? Right, it is proven that woman are usually victims to their superior male counterparts. Due to a lower status, their traditional role has revolved around domestic tasks, cooking, childbearing and rearing, etc. Those that do NOT abide by the rules must be certain...

Re: Why are all mainline campaign leaders male?

Smart girl, good question – given the number of UMC with female leaders (or co-leaders at least). And an interesting answer. So, does anyone know how many UMC campaigns are made by female authors (if any)? And what is meant by "editing the files" ? Bad example with ambiguous implications: Deoran fro...

Re: German translation in BfW 1.11.15 - design problem with

LAZA, just to confirm your observation: I´m playing on BfW 1.10.7 and 1.11.12, switching to "German" I can state that there is a difference between the two versions when displaying the character "ä". So, I cannot say exactly when the problem had first appeared. Umlaut.png As far as I can ascertain, ...

Re: Open Bundle

If you know all UMC compositions however, wow, that's a lot of Wesnoth music you listened to. I noticed a thread on the forums. ( Expanding UMC Music – http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=37141#p532664 ), that´s how I learned about the meaning of those "UMC Music Books" and other collect...

Re: Open Bundle

I´ve listened to Heindal´s Bundle and the Freesound sites, and Yes! … nice music, good sounds. Still, doofus-01 pointed already: Wesnoth is lucky to have its own tunes of great contributors. There are lots of special UMC music packs, numerous titles... it´s just: So far, I´ve never heard one that´s ...

Re: Suggesting a New Campaign for a long-time Player/UMC-cre

Sorry for the mixup when quickly adding the link. I´ve "studied" both timelines, and I´m grateful for each of those works. So, thanks to both of you! story prose as a top priority ... I do not replay It´s about the entertainment of solving the puzzles "How to get those evil bastards". And UMC, unfor...

Re: Suggesting a New Campaign for a long-time Player/UMC-cre

I just play campaigns (mostly intermediate/novice), post feedback, and make add-ons … and – just to mention – you apply a lot of effort in an overview of the historical events of Ancient Irdya and the list of campaigns embedded in the course of the pre-Wesnoth world, going back beyond 20.000 BW. Ev...

Re: Suggesting a New Campaign for a long-time Player/UMC-cre

WOW! … when I read about "519 addons on the 1.10 server" viewtopic.php?f=10&t=40125&p=569210#p569210 I became dizzy by those numbers, got kind of a nightmare when thinking of all the campaigns I will never have the time to play. Given such a very broad scope, I would never have held it for possible ...

Re: Stone Remembers: A Novel of Wesnoth (completed)

A-Red, what a pleasant surprise! A response to JPomazon´s message didn´t seem likely to me, it´s quite a while you haven´t been around, isn´t it ? I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for that great BfW-novel. "Stone Remembers" is very well written, a dark and gripping story from the t...

Re: [mainline]Based characteristics in genres

As today the gender of Undead has started to be a subject for a discussion on IRC, I would like to pick up on this interesting issue and see this thread being continued (surely NOT to dump on the efficiency of the mainline team, or to point unreasonably to a lack of motivation on the part of users, ...

But there is no need in hiding your own light under a bushel, iceiceice. Maybe you´re not that superman either necessary to save...

Re: WIP wiki cleanup and update

 … Thrilling!
Links to "archaeological dig in the graveyard" or "treasure hunt in the attic" in the spirit of BfW,
and to stimulate attention on the wiki ... and its permanent need for update and helpful content.

Re: "infeasible" / "unfeasible"

There is no rule for what begins with the prefix 'in-' or 'un-', parallel forms are not unusual. Being unfamiliar with a variant of a word does not make the variant wrong: it means that the community you belong to prefers one variant over another. The "house style" of BfW, for example, is American s...
