Re: Swamplings for 1.14

I don't know how to make a screen shot, & I'm not sure I've done the attachment correctly. either, but the last scenario won't load. If you load the attachment it might show you the message as it appears in game. Condition 'as_int>=0' failed at src\gui\core\canvas.cpp: 1041 in function 'dimension_va...

Absolutely, I will give it another try. Thank you for your work on this campaign, & all of the work you do here on Wesnoth.

Re: Wesnoth 1.14.4

"(By the way, it's also currently on the 1.12 addons server under the same new name, so it doesn't actually qualify for the conditions of your list.)" Yes, I know, but you added a scenario that is incomprehensible to me. I can not get passed it. I love the older version, & play it a lot, but for me,...

Re: Wesnoth 1.14.4

Are you asking me which add-ons from 1.10.7 that I like? Elves & Wose, Shameless Crossover Excuse, Militia, Archery Training & Besieged Druids. Even though I've been playing for a long time, I only play novice campaigns because I don't play to test myself or to prove something to myself; I only play...

Re: Wesnoth 1.14.4

OK, thanks for the information. I only play single player. I will continue to use 1.10.7 & 1.12.6, as well as the new version. I've noticed a lot of new novice campaigns on the 1.14 server. Perhaps, it's time I gave some of these a try. Who knows, I might find a new favorite.

Regards

Re: Wesnoth 1.14.4

I still use 1.10.7 a lot because I like some add-ons that haven't been maintained, to be compatible, with newer versions of the game. I downloaded these from Source Forge via this site. To be clear, this isn't safe anymore? Should I wait for a patch, that might not be coming, or should I uninstall t...

Re: Introduce yourself here!

Instead of new campaigns, there are several older campaigns that have lost their maintainer, & therefore not been updated to work with the newest version. I still have 1.10.17 installed so that I can play some of these campaigns. Some of these are very good: Elves & Woses, The Militia, A Shameless C...

Re: Swamplings for 1.12

Why would you upload a campaign & not check to see if it will actually work on the new version of Wesnoth?

Re: Good campaigns for beginners

My three favorites are Samplings, Ghostly Calls & the Case of the Missing Scepter.

I hope they will be maintained & uploaded to the 1.14 server.

Re: True math RNG... proved! :)

Your problem is revealed in your language. There is no such thing as luck. You are seeing the whole thing as one event; It is actually a series of events. Let's use mages as an example. 3 attacks at 70% is just that: three separate attacks, not one attack. I used to play a variant of Settlers of Cat...

Re: Wesnoth 1.13.11 (1.14 Beta 3)

I've been testing 1.13.12 & of the mini-map toggle switches only the zoom button works. I always turn off the villages toggle switch because I find it confusing & a clutter. This is why I know it's not working. The performance issues seem to have been resolved & the game is even more visually appeal...

Re: Is Wesnoth mainly luck and not skill-based?

If you want to play a game where random chance is not a factor, then take up chess or go. I spent forty years learning to be a good chess player & I can download a freeware program that can beat Grand Masters. Random chance made me two meters tall, & legally blind. That's life. To have the best chan...

Re: 1.14 ?

I've been following those threads with interest & The Gnat suggested that the performance issues have been mostly resolved. That is why I am looking forward to the new release. My comments were not intended as criticism, I think that you all are doing wonderful work.

Re: 1.14 ?

There's been no announcement that 1.13.10 is available. Where are the links? www.wesnoth.org shows 1.13.8.
