How about "A Simple Campaign". That's probably the best place to start.

Re: A Vision Blinded (15 scenarios, all complete and working

Hi Adamant14. I finally got a revised map ready for Scenario 8 Disobedience. These are the changes: 1. Removed the forest terrain tiles along the edge of the hills south of the starting keep. 2. Added more hill terrain at the first bend of the path around coordinate 24,7. 3. Added more hill/pine for...

Re: A Vision Blinded (15 scenarios, all complete and working

What I would like to change is the Nagas income, because I think the Nagas are too week. The end of the scenario is way to easy. I think the Nagas need a little push. This is a good idea. The Nagas just trickle towards you, one at a time (after the first wave) and they are easy to take out, especia...

Re: A Vision Blinded (15 scenarios, all complete and working

@ElComandante Thank you for posting your feedback. You're definitely right- some feedback is better than nothing. The ambushes are there either to prevent the player from taking shortcuts in which case it shouldn't be possible to trigger them accidentally when following the expected roundabout path,...

Re: What do you find to be the worst unit in the default era

The troll rocklobber can be useful in SP campaigns. I generally go with a 2:1 ratio of troll/rocklobber. It seems the enemy thinks twice before attacking a rocklobber because of their potentially hefty melee and ranged retailation damage. Put rocklobbers on the front lines as good defensive wall.

Re: A Vision Blinded (15 scenarios, all complete and working

Hi guys. ElComandante wrote: One comment about scenario #8 "Disobedience". The way the ambush criteria is defined, the ambushers may show up right on the edge of hills which means that ambushers sometimes get triggered based on the route the unit is taking (forest being of equal cost for E...

Re: Let's Play "Liberty"

Well, I've following your walk through (for the most part). It's very helpful. However, I've noticed something. I'm playing on 1.11.7. In the first scenario, first turn, all the wolves go directly north every time. I could not get them to take the bait. I've tried this about a few times on a all thr...

Re: Discussion about favored traits for each unit type

Footpad: quick, resilient Reasoning: makes them more annoying harassers and village stealers. Neither strong nor intelligent is really desirable in comparison. I generally have to disagree with this. With quick, the unit gets 5% less HP, which almost negates the resilient trait. Footpad's have low ...

Re: Let's Play "Liberty"

Hi Beleth, very nice walk through you put together here. Your writing style is very entertaining. :D I've always have had trouble with this scenario (even on easy), but I'm a horrible player. Watching/reading this strategy guide is most helpful. The thing I've learned most is to pay attention... whi...

Re: Minimap Colors

Speaking of villages, could they be a different shape, like triangles, that could change color when a team takes them? That is already part of the development version. I used rectangles for them, like the units do. Your proposal makes me think about using circles (which are easier to draw). I guess...

Re: WesMod Part I art work (pre-history)

These are pretty good sprites- nice work. I would think the "skirt" option would be more suitable for an assassin type unit. Having a long flowing cape would impede the unit's movement/agility or at least hinder the unit's stealthiness. I would think it would be difficult to sneak up on fo...

Re: Space Ships

The Red Dwarf from the Red Dwarf series was cool. IIRC it looked like junk from the outside but had cool interiors. But I only saw the first few episodes of series 1... The ships from 2001: A Space Odyssey were also inspiring, especially the EVA pods (I had to look this up :P ). The scenes with the ...

Re: Coolest Faction (keep it nerdy)

From mainline, I really liked it when I got to play with Northerners in SotBE: screw magic, agility, dexterity, whatever - just plain hacking n' slashing ' smashing all fools who stood on my way Also, I have a tendency of rooting for the underdog, so it's nice to take orcs to glory sometimes I agre...

Re: When should I recruit bowmen instead of spearmen?

Speaking strictly SP here- bowman can have their uses, especially as they level up. The longbowman's range damage equals that of the pikeman's melee, but the longbowman also has their own melee. Same as the Master Bowman compared to the Royal Guard.
