Re: Can I dismiss a unit during a scenario?

...or until it dies. It is usually the case that I can send a unit on a suicide mission which benefits me at least to the extent of holding up a couple of enemies for a turn to kill my excess unit. That's why I assumed it should be possible to dismiss units. Another reason is that if they want gold...

Can I dismiss a unit during a scenario?

I'm playing this scenario and I have a couple of units I don't need (already laying siege to the relevant orc base). Can I dismiss it (i.e. not later during recall)? I can't find the menu option for doing that. If I can't - has this been considered as an option? (If I search for 'dismiss and 'unit' ...

Replaying campaign scenarios for levelling-up units?

I seem to recall some thread here on the forum mentioning the possibility of replaying scenarios within a campaign (i.e. actually playing them, not watching the replay of what you've done) - gradually amassing more experience so that eventually you get to recall high-level units. However, I haven't ...

Re: Negative gold

Insinuator : There is really almost no point to saving gold. The one and only reason to save gold is if you CAN. That means, if you are certain you can win with less units, stop recruiting. Otherwise, don't. Most scenarios are balanced so that available villages should balance your upkeep anyways. ...

Re: Negative gold

Far be it from me to argue for this much of a change in mainline, I'm just rolling this thing around in my head... If there are no immediate negative effects, then: If you expect to reach 0 gold due to upkeep, you might as well spend all your money recalling/recruiting since the debt won't matter. I...

Re: Negative gold

Ceres: Thanks for the speedy reply. I was sort of wondering whether you shouldn't be losing units.

Negative gold

I'm a newbie player, working through the South Guard campaign. I've recently started the 'Into the Depths' level, and it looked like I was going to max out my gold. Since then, I found some villages, so no danger of going broke, but still... The "Income and Upkeep" section of the Help dialog says it...

Re: Introduce yourself here!

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and the game - playing 'The South Guard' as the tutorial recommends. I really applaud everyone's efforts in working on this game (especially since I've done some FOSS work myself). It's pretty addictive... and today it seems pretty professional, and the art is ve...
