wesnoth.show_dialog is the powerful way.

You can still use wesnoth.wml_actions.message though.

If you understand programming, it might be easier to do the programming logic in Lua instead. Whether the logic is done in Lua or WML, [side] does not support variable evaluation. From my observations the shade of green depends on OS. Windows shows #0f0, linux shows something darker.

First store_unit may match multiple units. It is possible that if plaguer is array, then plaguer.attribute is empty. During developing it is better to not clear variable and inspect it instead. I agree with the point about 1.14 note in 1.12. Currently message of the day does not support any kind of formatting, and from what I have heard could be difficult to add.

Scheduling next release for 14-15.09. Main goal is to bring in the changes from IPS and provide at least some support of 1.15.

Setting deadline for myself to deal with those balance changes by this weekend.
