Re: HttT Text & Dialogue

But I'm afraid it's back to the brickbats, as I elaborate on what I don't like about your Introduction. Alright, I confess: I googled 'brickbat' :) ...stick closer to the old plot [argument from DM + Hebraic history] (nice!) Well, its something to consider for the 2nd major edit. I think, though, t...

Re: [mainline] On Level, Optionally Optimize Traits

Ok, here's my last stab: This is totally counter to my original idea (which I still like) but it's the last hope i see for this idea to continue to be plausible in MP. Option 1: 'Focused' units that level gain a stat boost in the same category as their 2nd trait. Example: my strong, focused shaman l...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue

What if it were rewritten from Konrad's point of view? Initially I like this; and it would only have to be from that point in the intro on. Maybe one or two more self-references, tops. I think it could work. Now, I think it's ok that he isn't immediately the center of attention, but I think he shou...

Re: [mainline] On Level, Optionally Optimize Traits

One of the principles of Wesnoth design is "no user input on other players' turns" or something to that effect. That's the reason level-ups on enemy turns are random. You should adjust your proposals to take into consideration what will happen when a patient unit levels up on a turn other...

[UMC] On Level, Optimize Traits; 'Focus' Trait

Back for more punishment. The idea is this: upon leveling, give the player the option to optimize one or two of the unit's traits/characteristics rather than/in addition to traditional advancement. This could be implemented globally as a mechanic change (not going to happen, K), or via a trait. For ...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue

I'd advise you to comment them as you go along so they don't get missed later in the rush to commit. Probably a good idea. This will be part of the second major edit. EDIT: S5a: Muff Malal's Peninsula v0.5 (first edit) is up. Groggy (and others) let me know what you think about the added geopolitic...

Thanks— really great stuff. Will you have a chance to read through the others? Non-english text is out of scope for this current effort, but when we move to commit I will gladly go back through and scrutinize for any dialogue where gendered personal pronouns occur.

I'll keep an eye on these for inclusion in the HttT rework. Let me know if you have suggestions.

Sounds good.

All, first edits of Blackwater Port, Isle of Alduin, and Bay of Pearls are all up and need a second review!

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue

Of course, this doesn't fit at all with your rewritten Muff Malal. Well, yeah, but I wrote that whole scenario in like an hour . I mean, It's not like rebuilding the pyramids- even if I have to scrap the whole block and start over. The kind of feedback exhibited by your post was exactly what I need...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue

It's the previous undead. Noted for clarification.

EDIT: Intro v0.6 is up. Wordcount trimmed from 1250 to 960. It's getting closer.

EDIT: I need feedback on Blackwater and Muff Malal. I will apply the same hack and slash, but if there's anything else I need to know...

This is pre-trimming. Wordcount is still too high.

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue

Also, I don't know if you've played Liberty, but that whole backstory behind the inhabitants of the Three Sisters is discarded in your version of Isle of the Damned. Although I agree the writing in HttH could use improvement, in general, I'm not crazy about your changes. Furthermore, you're changin...
